  • Patent number: 5184057
Abstract: In a control method and device for an AC motor, when transforming output power of a converter to AC power by an inverter and controlling the AC motor with the AC power, a source current value is determined from the value of an electric variable in the input or output side of the inverter, and the converter is controlled in accordance with the source current value. This makes the source current free from an influence of ripple components. Accordingly, even when the load of the AC motor is fluctuated abruptly, the required AC power can be applied to the converter so as to follow such fluctuations.

  • Patent number: 4779709
Abstract: An elevator control apparatus comprises an inverter device for supplying an induction motor for driving an elevator cage with AC electric power of variable voltage and frequencies and control equipment for controlling the output voltage and frequencies of the inverter device in response to signals produced in floors served by the elevator and in an elevator cage. The inverter device is constructed by a converter unit for converting AC electric power to DC electric power, at the input end of which a capacitor is connected in parallel with an AC electric source, an inverter unit for inverting the DC electric power converted in the converter unit into AC electric power, at the output end of which a capacitor is connected in parallel with an induction motor for driving the elevator cage and a DC reactor connected between the converter unit and the inverter unit. The thus constructed elevator control apparatus does not cause interference in electric appliances such as audio equipment, computer etc.

  • Patent number: 4420718
Abstract: An control system for an induction motor driven by an AC output of variable frequency and voltage produced from an inverter which converts DC power obtained by a converter through conversion of AC power having constant voltage and constant frequency. The system comprises means for estimating the power factor of the induction motor from an input current to the inverter, means for controlling the voltage of the AC output from the inverter when the estimated power factor is outside a predetermined range, and means for restricting the control of the AC output voltage to prevent the ratio between the AC output voltage and the AC output frequency from exceeding a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 4276589
Abstract: At least one smoothing reactor is connected to the positive terminal of a DC source. A first interphase reactor has its one end connected to the other end of the smoothing reactor. A second interphase reactor is connected to the negative terminal of the DC source. Each of the first and second interphase reactors has first and second terminals at the other end thereof. Connected between the first terminals of the first and second interphase reactors is a first inverter comprising three main valves on each side of the positive and negative terminals, i.e., a total of six main valves each having a control gate and forming a first three-phase bridge. Also connected between the second terminals of the first and second interphase reactors is a second inverter comprising three main valves arranged on each side of the positive and negative terminals, i.e., a total of six main valves each having a control gate and forming a second three-phase bridge.

  • Patent number: 4188663
Abstract: A current source inverter having a converter for changing alternating current into direct current, an inverter for changing the d.c. output of the converter into alternating current, and a reactor interposed between the converter and the inverter comprises power failure detecting means for detecting the power failure of the a.c. input of the converter. The power failure detecting means is constructed of square wave generator circuits which generate square waves when voltages in respective polarities of respective phases of the a.c. input exist, an adder which adds the outputs of said square wave generator circuits, and a comparator which compares an output of said adder with a predetermined value and which provides an output when the adder output is below the predetermined value.
