  • Publication number: 20110138885
Abstract: A vane pump has an upper casing, a lower casing, a rotor and a motor. First to fourth points are defined on an outer peripheral end of a lower flat surface of the lower casing. The first point is farthest from an intersection between an axis of a shaft of the motor and the lower flat surface. A suction passage passing through the third point and a discharge passage passing through the second point are formed between the upper casing and the lower casing. The fourth point is defined in a range from the third point to the first point. The lower flat surface is provided to incline with respect to the axis of the shaft of the motor such that the fourth point is farthest from a motor case of the motor among points on the outer peripheral end.

  • Patent number: 7814961
Abstract: A casting nozzle for supplying a molten alloy liquid of aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy to a movable mold for continuous casting from a tundish, in which the molten alloy liquid is stored. The casting nozzle is fixed to the tundish. The casting nozzle tip arranged on the movable mold side is made of a highly heat-conductive material having a heat conductivity of 0.2 W/mK or more, and a highly elastic material having an elastic modulus of 5000 MPa or more, etc. By making the tip of the casting nozzle with a material having superior thermal conductivity, the irregularity in solidification of the molten alloy liquid is decreased and thereby the surface quality of a cast alloy is improved. The nozzle tip is formed with a material having high elasticity and superior elastic deformability, whereby the interstice between the movable mold and the tip of outer peripheral edge of the nozzle is narrowed, and accordingly a cast alloy having superior surface quality can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7772704
Abstract: As a discrete semiconductor chip, there has been known one that enables flip-chip mounting by providing first and second electrodes in a current path above a first surface of a semiconductor substrate. However, there is a problem that a horizontal current flow in the substrate increases resistance components. A first electrode and a second electrode, which are connected to an element region, are provided above a first surface. Moreover, a thick metal layer having corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance and also having a low resistance is provided above a second surface. Thus, resistance components of a current flowing in a horizontal direction of a substrate are reduced. Moreover, by appropriately selecting a thickness of the thick metal layer, a resistance value of a device can be reduced while suppressing a cost increase. Furthermore, by adopting Au as the thick metal layer, defects such as discoloration of the thick metal layer with time can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20090020567
Abstract: A casting nozzle suited to manufacture a casting material of pure magnesium or magnesium alloy is provided. A nozzle 1 is utilized to manufacture a casting material 100 by supplying molten metal to a portion between rolls 10 which become a casting die, and arranged so that a pouring port 4 is located between a pair of rolls 10 opposed to other. This nozzle 1 includes a main body 1a formed of oxide material such as alumina, and a coating layer 3 which is provided on the inner surface of the main body 1a which comes into contact the molten metal, and formed of material that does not include oxygen substantially. Since the main body 1a does not come into direct contact with the molten metal due to the coating layer 3, it is possible to prevent oxygen included in the main body 1a from reacting with the molten metal.

  • Publication number: 20080319632
Abstract: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes cylinder internal pressure sensors provided in each cylinder of an engine, and calculates a heat generation quantity in each cylinder based on the detected cylinder internal pressure and a crank angle. The control apparatus then obtains a combustion barycentric position, which is the crank angle at which a predetermined ratio of heat, of the total heat generation quantity in a combustion cycle, is generated. The control apparatus also calculates, based on the heat generation quantity, an actual starting point of combustion, which is a crank angle at which combustion actually started in the cylinder, and obtains the crank angle of the relative combustion barycentric position with respect to the actual starting point of combustion. When this crank angle exceeds an upper limit value, it is determined that combustion has truly deteriorated.

  • Patent number: 7350399
Abstract: A leakage detecting device is connected to an evaporating fuel processing apparatus to detect leakage of evaporating fuel in a ventilation apparatus that includes an electric pump, a fuel tank, and a filter. The electric pump includes a pump portion and a motor portion. The pump portion is capable of generating at least one of pressurizing force and de-pressurizing force. The motor portion drives the pump portion. The filter absorbs fuel evaporating in the fuel tank. The leakage detecting device generates pressure difference between the inside of the ventilation apparatus and the outside of the ventilation apparatus in accordance with the pressurizing force and the de-pressurizing force generated using the electric pump to detect a leakage condition of the ventilation apparatus. The leakage detecting device includes a rotation speed controlling means that controls rotation speed of the motor portion at a predetermined rotation speed.

  • Patent number: 7237432
Abstract: A rotor includes a plurality of vanes and is connected to a rotatable shaft of a motor arrangement. A casing includes a pump chamber and elongated holes. The pump chamber receives the rotor in such a manner that the rotor is eccentric to the pump chamber. Each elongated hole penetrates through the casing and has an elongated cross section. A major axis of the elongated cross section of each elongated hole extends in a direction of eccentricity of the rotor relative to the pump chamber. Each bolt is received through a corresponding elongated hole of the casing and is threadably engaged with a mount to connect the casing to the mount. The casing holds each bolt in a minor axial direction of the elongated cross section of the corresponding elongated hole to limit substantial movement of the male threaded screw member in the minor axial direction of the elongated hole.

  • Patent number: 7137288
Abstract: A fuel vapor leakage check module has a canister port which is provided so that the port can be opened to the air and is connected to the interior of a fuel tank through a canister for absorbing fuel vapor produced in the fuel tank. A pump depressurizes or pressurizes the interior of the fuel tank through the canister port. A connecting passage which is coaxially provided in the canister port, is connected to the canister port. The connecting passage is depressurized or pressurized by the pump. A standard orifice is coaxially provided in the connecting passage and reduces the passage area of the connecting passage.

  • Patent number: 7114372
Abstract: A fuel vapor leak check module has a pump discharging an air through an outlet. When the fuel vapor check module is mounted on a vehicle, an outlet of the pump is opened downwardly in the gravity direction. A housing has an opening provided above the outlet. The foreign particles discharged from the outlet of the pump are deposited on the inner surface of the housing. The foreign particles hardly reach to the opening even if the discharged air pushes up the foreign particles. Thus, the foreign particles are separated from the discharged air by the gravity to avoid the scatter thereof.

  • Patent number: 7107827
Abstract: A fuel vapor leak check module has a pressure sensor and a pump driven by a brushless motor. The pressure sensor is disposed at a place opposite to the inlet. A sensor room in which the pressure sensor is disposed communicates with the inlet of the pump through a pressure introducing passage and a pump-passage. Even if a pressure fluctuation arises at an inlet of the pump, a pressure fluctuation of the pressure in the fuel tank is restricted. Furthermore, the control circuit for the brushless motor is cooled by air flowing through a discharge passage. The sensor room is restricted from the discharge passage so that the discharged air hardly flows into the pressure room to enhance the accuracy of fuel vapor detection.
