    Abstract: A method of coating an aluminum wheel comprises:coating the aluminum wheel with a coating composition (A) comprising a thermosetting or thermoplastic resin having a glass transition temperature of -25.degree. to 60.degree. C. and an elongation of at least 30% (at 20.degree. C.) when in the form of a cured coating, and finely divided transparent silica and/or alumina 0.005 to 0.05 .mu.m particle size, in an amount of 5 to 35 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin, andsubsequently coating the resulting coating with a thermosetting acrylic resin coating composition (B) capable of forming a coating having an elongation of 3 to 30% (at 20.degree. C.) and a glass transition temperature of 60.degree. to 130.degree. C.
