    Abstract: A side airbag device (1) protects the passenger (90) in the lateral space (92). The airbag (10) has an attaching portion (11) attached to a side section (85) of a seat (80), and is folded so as to be able to deploy from the side section (85) toward the lateral space (92). The inflator (2) generates gas and thereby deploys the airbag (10) to a leading end portion (12) in the deployment direction (F). The airbag (10) has a bellows-like folded section in which a part (30) between the leading end portion (12) and the attaching portion (11) is folded in a bellows-like shape. The bellows-like folded section is disposed in front of the attaching portion (11) in the deployment direction (F), and is folded double toward the back of the deployment direction (F) so that a portion (32) close to the attaching portion (11) is positioned therein.

    Abstract: A chamber required to be inflated and deployed at an early stage in an airbag is inflated and deployed in advance so as to protect an occupant at an early stage. An airbag device (1A) is provided with an airbag (10A) which protects an occupant (90) in a vehicle by inflation and deployment by gas, and an inflator (3) which supplies the gas to the airbag (10A). The airbag (10A) has a first chamber (20), a gas distribution port (14) provided in the first chamber (20), and a second chamber (30). The first chamber (20) stores an inflator (3) and is inflated by the gas supplied from the inflator (3). The second chamber (30) surrounds a part of the first chamber (20) including the distribution port (14) and is inflated by the gas supplied from the distribution port (14).

A bolt (50) is inserted through a plurality of mounting tabs (11) provided on an airbag (10) of an airbag device (1), a mounting bracket (40) having inner and outer plates (41) and (42), and an annular member (44) provided in the inner plate (41). In this state, a toothed washer (70) is fitted and temporarily attached to the bolt (50). The annular member (44) is fastened by screwing the bolt (50) into a nut (55) attached to the vehicle-body side wall (15) when the airbag (10) is mounted to a vehicle-body side wall (15).

    Abstract: An airbag is mounted to a vehicle with a predetermined torque, using mounting brackets. An airbag device to be disposed along a vehicle-body side surface includes a plurality of mounting tabs (11) provided at an upper edge of an airbag and mounting brackets (40(1)). The mounting brackets (40(1)) each include inner and outer plates (41) and (42) that are joined at a connecting portion (43). The inner plate (41) has an annular member (44). In a state in which insertion holes in the mounting tabs are externally fitted to the annular members (44), the mounting tabs are nipped between the inner and outer plates (41) and (42). In this state, bolts are inserted through inner holes (47) in the annular members (44) and insertion holes in the outer plates (42) and in a vehicle-body side wall and are screwed into nuts attached to the vehicle-body side wall.

At least an upper surface of the twisted part 17b is regulated by a supporting bracket 21 and disposed in the vehicle body.

    Abstract: An airbag is quickly inflated and deployed along an inner side wall of a vehicle while suppressing variations of the deployment direction of the airbag inflated and deployed from an upper part of the vehicle. An upper edge side of an airbag (2), which deploys first, is bellows-folded to form a bellows portion (2J), and a lower edge side continuous with the bellows portion (2J) is roll-folded toward the vehicle's exterior side (G) to form a roll-folded portion (2R). The roll-folded portion (2R) is formed to have a larger width than the bellows portion (2J) in the vehicle's width direction and the both sides thereof are folded back upward. The bellows portion (2J) is folded in substantially half and is wrapped by the roll-folded portion (2R) from below and is accommodated therein.
