  • Publication number: 20090162577
Abstract: There is provided an optical film pressure-sensitive adhesive composition capable of forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that has reworkability such that optical films therewith can be easily separated from liquid crystal panels with no adhesive residue and also has satisfactory processability such that it can be processed without causing adhesive stain or dropout after it is formed on an optical film. The optical film pressure-sensitive adhesive composition includes 100 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic polymer including, as monomer units, (a) 50 to 99.79% by weight of an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, (b) 0.01 to 0.45% by weight of a tertiary amino group-containing monomer, and (c) 0.1 to 3% by weight of a hydroxyl group-containing monomer; and 0.01 to 2 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent that is at least one selected from the group consisting of hexamethylene diisocyanate, hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate, and isophorone diisocyanate, or a polyisocyanate compound derived therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20090116111
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film of the present invention comprises an optical film; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer laminated on at least one side of the optical film, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed from an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer comprising 30 to 99.99% by weight of an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer unit and 0.01 to 15% by weight of a functional group-containing monomer unit, and the (meth)acrylic polymer in the acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive is crosslinked by electron beam irradiation. The pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film has a high level of reworkability, durability and workability.

  • Publication number: 20090110924
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive for an optical film of the present invention comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer comprising 50 to 99.99% by weight of alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer unit and 0.01 to 30% by weight of a photocrosslinkable monomer unit having an unsaturated double bond-containing polymerizable functional group and a photocrosslinkable moiety different from the functional group. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed from the pressure-sensitive adhesive on at least one side of an optical film, wherein the photocrosslinkable moiety of the (meth)acrylic polymer in the pressure-sensitive adhesive is crosslinked by active energy ray irradiation. The pressure-sensitive adhesive can form the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with a high level of durability and preferable workability.

  • Publication number: 20090104450
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for an optical film of the present invention comprises 100 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic polymer comprising 45 to 99.99% by weight of an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer unit and 0.01 to 2% by weight of a tertiary amino group-containing monomer unit; and 0.01 to 2 parts by weight of a peroxide as a crosslinking agent. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition can form an pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that has satisfactory reworkability such that optical films can be easily peeled from liquid crystal panels with no adhesive residue and also has satisfactory processability such that it can be worked without pressure-sensitive adhesive fouling or dropout.

  • Publication number: 20080112047
Abstract: A method for producing a polarizing plate of the invention comprises bonding a transparent protective film (A) and another transparent protective film (B) to one side of a polarizer and to another side of the polarizer, respectively, with an adhesive, wherein the polarizer has a moisture content of 15 to 30% by weight, the transparent protective film (A) is made of the same quality material as the transparent protective film (B), the transparent protective film (A) is thicker than the transparent protective film (B), and the transparent protective film (A) has a moisture content higher than that of the transparent protective film (B). The polarizing plate obtained by the production method can suppress curling.
