  • Patent number: 10598796
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus that includes a receiving circuit and a processing circuit. The receiving circuit is configured to receive a satellite signal transmitted from a satellite. The satellite signal carries navigation bits that are transmitted with a navigation bit length. The processing circuit is configured to construct aiding navigation bits based on aiding ephemeris and almanac information that are provided by an aiding source other than the satellite signal. Further, the processing circuit is configured to strip the navigation bits from the satellite signal based on the aiding navigation bits to generate a post-stripping signal, and perform an integration on the post-stripping signal.

  • Patent number: 10416316
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method of determining frame timing of one or more signals from one or more respective transmitters. The method determining first observation windows that correspond to first candidate segments of the one or more signals; calculating a first set of accumulated signal patterns, each accumulated signal pattern of the first set of accumulated signal patterns being calculated based on signal patterns in a respective subset of the first candidate segments of the one or more signals; determining whether a first set of accumulated synchronization words derived from the first set of accumulated signal patterns is consistent with a first set of corresponding benchmark synchronization words; and determining the frame timing of the one or more signals based on timing of the first observation windows when the first set of accumulated synchronization words is consistent with the first set of corresponding benchmark synchronization words.

  • Patent number: 10365377
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting a mobility mode of a mobile device. The method, in response to receiving an observation decision, comprises finding (e.g., recursively) the most probable mobility mode state of the wireless mobile device using a dynamic programming algorithm based on a Hidden Markov Model that comprises: calculating the probability for the observation by the knowledge of the observation and probability of the previous state using the transition probability and multiplying by the emission probability of observation for the state, obtaining the maximum probability for the detected mobility mode states, determining a mobility mode state with the maximum probability, and storing the mobility mode state data of the wireless mobile device in a given FIFO queue of the one or more FIFO queues. The method future comprises controlling the output of the position data by acquiring the satellite navigation data on an interval basis.

  • Patent number: 10067237
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus that includes a sensor module and a navigation signal receiver. The sensor module is configured to generate signals indicative of motions of the apparatus. The navigation signal receiver includes receiver circuitry and processor circuitry. The receiver circuitry is configured to receive satellite navigation signals from a plurality of satellites. The processor circuitry is configured to determine a velocity of the apparatus based on the satellite navigation signals, receive an estimated speed from the sensor module, calibrate a moving speed based on the velocity and the estimated speed, and determine a power saving time based on the calibrated moving speed. The power saving time is an amount of time that the navigation signal receiver is to stay in a power saving mode.

  • Patent number: 9323314
Abstract: A mobile communications device and a method for reducing energy usage in a mobile communications device are provided. An example mobile communications device includes an application processor. The application processor includes a first central processing unit (CPU), where the first CPU consumes a relatively high amount of power when operating in an active mode. The mobile communications device includes a microcontroller coupled to the application processor. The microcontroller includes a sensor subsystem configured to process, using a second CPU, first data received from one or more sensors. The second CPU consumes a relatively low amount of power when operating in an active mode. The microcontroller includes a location subsystem configured to receive satellite signals and process, using the second CPU, second data that is based on the received satellite signals. The first CPU operates in a sleep mode during the processing of the first and second data.
