  • Patent number: 11230977
Abstract: Method for optimizing the limitation of dust emissions from a gas turbine or combustion plant comprising a line for supplying liquid fuel oil, a line for generating fuel oil atomizing air, and a central controller, wherein: a first definition step, starting from a nominal temperature of the fuel oil and a nominal pressure ratio of the atomizing air of the fuel oil, and by controlling the injection of the soot inhibitor, of a nominal operating point corresponding to the maximum permissible level of emitted dust; a second step of controlling a first parameter, taken from the group of the fuel oil temperature and the pressure ratio of the fuel oil atomizing air, in order to reach another operating point; and a third step of controlling the soot inhibitor injection to achieve the maximum permissible level of emitted dust.

Date of Patent: January 25, 2022
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Matthieu Vierling, Pierre Montagne, Sven Catrin, Ezio Pena Saavedra, Mohamad-Maher Aboujaib
  • Patent number: 10989620
Abstract: Various embodiments include an offline leak detection system for a turbomachine fuel system. In some embodiments, the leak detection system includes: a fluid supply system fluidly connected to at least one fuel line of the turbomachine, the fluid supply system for delivering a non-flammable fluid to the combustor; a control system operably connected to the fluid supply system, the control system controlling a flow of the non-flammable fluid through the at least one fuel line, and controlling a pressure of the non-flammable fluid in the at least one fuel line to a pressure substantially equal to an operational fuel pressure of the turbomachine; and an optical monitor for determining a presence of the non-flammable fluid on an exterior of the at least one fuel line, the presence of the non-flammable fluid on the exterior of the at least one fuel line indicating a leak.

  • Patent number: 10145560
Abstract: The valve, notably for a combustion system, is comprised of a valve body, at least a first fluid inlet pipe, at least one outlet pipe for the fluid arranged on the valve body, a shutter mounted movably within the valve body and capable of ensuring fluid communication between the pipes, and an actuating device of the shutter mounted within the valve body and capable of being controlled electrically. The valve also contains a cooling circuit arranged within the valve body and surrounding at least part of the actuating device, at least one cooling fluid inlet pipe, and at least one outlet pipe for the fluid arranged on the valve body and in fluid communication with the cooling circuit.
