  • Patent number: 10834379
Abstract: A wide spread adoption of 3D videos and technologies is hindered by the lack of high-quality 3D content. One promising solution to address this problem is to use automated 2D-to-3D conversion. However, current conversion methods, while general, produce low-quality results with artefacts that are not acceptable to many viewers. Creating a database of 3D stereoscopic videos with accurate depth is, however, very difficult. Computer generated content can be used to generate high-quality 3D video reference database for 2D-to-3D conversion. The method transfers depth information from frames in the 3D reference database to the target frame while respecting object boundaries. It computes depth maps from the depth gradients, and outputs a stereoscopic video.

  • Patent number: 10348822
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for supporting clustering in a multitenant application server environment. The system includes a domain with a plurality of server clusters, and a plurality of partitions, wherein each cluster is homogenously configured and targeted by one or more partitions. An application programming interface (API) can be used to initiate a resource group across-cluster migration within a partition. The API can invoke a replication manager, which queries a target cluster for a runtime topology for use in determining where to store primary session; migrates the primary session to a determined server instance in the target cluster. Additional clustering features, such as cluster messaging service, leasing service, singleton service management, session replication, clustered JNDI, and use of domain front-end load balancing, can be supported.

  • Patent number: 10217187
Abstract: The method for dynamic video magnification magnifies small motions occurring simultaneously within large motions. The method involves selecting a region of interest from a video for magnification. The region of interest is warped to obtain a stabilized sequence of frames that discounts large motions. Each frame of the stabilized sequence is decomposed to a foreground layer, a background layer, and an alpha matte layer, and each of the foreground and alpha matte layers is magnified. Then a magnified sequence is generated from the magnified layers using matte inversion. Any image holes in the magnified sequence are filled in using texture synthesis. Finally, the magnified sequence is de-warped to the original space-time coordinates.

  • Patent number: 9843629
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for supporting an object-based stateful protocol (for example, T3 protocol) in a multitenant application server environment. The system includes a domain with a plurality of server instances, and a plurality of partitions thereon, wherein two or more partitions can spread across a first server instance and a second server instance of the plurality of server instances. Each of the first and second server instances can include a single remote java virtual machine (RJVM) that manages connections established through a single server channel on that server instance using the object-based stateful protocol. The application server instance initiating the connections can associate each connection with a particular partition using a token, and use a smart stub to recover a failed connection. A standalone Java application can similarly initiate connections to an application server instance.

  • Publication number: 20070097885
Abstract: A system and method for establishing communications channels between and among peers in a peer-to-peer networking environment. Pipes may be used as communication channels for sending and receiving messages and other data between services or applications over input and output endpoints. Pipes may be asynchronous, unidirectional, stateless and unreliable. Bidirectional pipes may also be supported. Pipes may have ends that may be moved around and bound to different peers at different times. Point-to-point and propagate pipes may be supported. Pipes may connect peers that have a direct physical link and peers that do not have a direct link. Peers may communicate through pipes without knowing on which peer a pipe endpoint is bound. A message is sent to all peer endpoints currently connected (listening) to the pipe. The set of connected endpoints may be obtained from a pipe service using a pipe binding protocol.

  • Patent number: 6452901
Abstract: A switching node for use in connection with a computer network includes an input interface, a buffer and a control element. The input interface receives cells from at least one input communication link. The buffer buffers selected cells prior to transmission over at least one output communication link. The control element selectively enables cells received by said input interface to be buffered in said buffer. The control element discards cells if the cell occupancy of the buffer exceeds a predetermined threshold level and a credits value indicates that the switching node has loaded a number of cells into the buffer for transmission which exceeds a cell loss ratio guarantee provided by the switching node.
