  • Publication number: 20230179317
Abstract: A method, applied to a UE, to mitigate interference for coexistence of OFDM-based radio access technologies, wherein the method includes receiving a dedicated RRC signal providing LTE CRS configuration information of neighboring LTE cells in one or more LTE carriers and providing the corresponding frequency location and bandwidth of the LTE carriers for an NR serving cell, wherein NR and LTE coexist in the same spectrum; determining the LTE CRS configuration and the corresponding frequency location of LTE CRS based on the received dedicated RRC signal; and performing LTE CRS interference suppression or cancellation in NR downlink (DL) transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220039047
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a mobile communication network. The controller determines whether a trigger condition is met. In response to the trigger condition being met, the controller reports a first value representing a first Rank Indicator (RI) or a second value representing the UE's capability of Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) layers to the mobile communication network via the wireless transceiver. In particular, the first value is less than a third value representing a second RI derived from a measurement by the UE, or the second value is less than a fourth value representing a number of maximum MIMO layers supported by the UE.

  • Patent number: 11032857
Abstract: A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a baseband processor is provided. The RF device performs wireless transmission and reception to and from one or more cells. The baseband processor uses a first subscriber identity to establish a connection with a serving cell via the RF device to perform a first communication procedure, and in response to completing the first communication procedure or the first communication procedure being interrupted by a second communication procedure associated with a second subscriber identity, uses the first subscriber identity to send a measurement report to the serving cell via the RF device. In particular, the measurement report indicates a reported signal quality of the serving cell is poor enough to release the connection.

  • Publication number: 20180376443
Abstract: Various solutions for location reporting relations between Wi-Fi calling capability and cellular network registration are described. A processor of an apparatus detects that a subscriber identity associated with the apparatus is out of network coverage. The processor then obtains an identity (ID) of a last wireless network among one or more wireless networks that the apparatus camped on under the subscriber identity. The processor also reports at least the ID to a service provider. In reporting at least the ID, the processor may report the ID and at least a timestamp in a Cellular Network Information (CNI) header field of a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) header.

  • Patent number: 10129921
Abstract: Solutions are proposed to facilitate the support of 3GPP PS_Data_Off feature. The PS_Data_Off feature prevents transport via 3GPP access of all IP packets except those related to 3GPP PS_Data_Off Exempt Services. In one example, signaling storms due to frequent PS_Data_Off reconfiguration are prevented. In another example, for multi-SIM devices and for devices that supporting WiFi access, UE reconfigures the PS_Data_Off feature upon a triggering condition is satisfied. In yet another example, upon status change of PS_Data_Off feature, UE initiates RAT change to improve performance, to reduce power consumption and cost, and to maintain service continuity. Furthermore, new AT commands and parameters are introduced to enable the PS_Data_Off feature.

  • Patent number: 9247529
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods of managing signaling radio bearer (SRB) transmissions. In one aspect, the apparatuses and methods are configured to generate a SRB packet comprising signaling information, wherein the SRB packet is configured to be transmitted on a channel according to a scheduling serving grant, determine whether the SRB packet is unable to be transmitted based on resources allocated by the received scheduling serving grant, override the received scheduling serving grant in response to determining that the SRB packet is unable to be transmitted, and transmit at least a part of the SRB packet on the channel. In another aspect, a scheduling information message to indicate whether an additional scheduling severing grant is needed is transmitted on the channel along with at least the part of the SRB packet.

  • Publication number: 20150365856
Abstract: The present disclosure presents a method and an apparatus for managing radio resource control (RRC) state transitions at a user equipment (UE). For example, the method may include transmitting a reconfiguration complete message to a network entity, starting a reselection delay timer simultaneously with the transmitting of the reconfiguration complete message, identifying initiation of a cell reselection procedure at the UE, delaying the cell reselection procedure at the UE until the UE receives a layer 2 acknowledgement (L2 ACK) message from the network entity, stopping the reselection delay timer in response to receiving the L2 ACK message, and transitioning the UE to a cell_paging channel (cell_PCH) state from a cell_forward access channel (cell_FACH) state after the stopping of the reselection delay timer. As such, managing RRC state transitions at a UE may be achieved.
