  • Patent number: 9672618
Abstract: A Dyslexia screening and management system and process for individual user, community and group in general are described. An electronic media based tests for reading, writing, drawing, spelling and listening skills, family drawing, and letter writing test, which uses text, audio, video, and gaze movement to detect a set of symptoms of having dyslexia is described. Multi-modal, language-independent screening test modules have been developed, which gives indications of further dyslexia diagnosis tool. The multimedia retrieval framework is presented to accelerate and ease the process of testing dyslexia at the global level, and to identify and auto assess potential dyslexic patterns and to accumulate huge collection of multimedia test data for in-depth clinical dyslexia pattern analysis.

  • Publication number: 20160096072
Abstract: A user rehabilitation system and method that includes authenticating a user with authentication information input, determining a therapy identification, providing a display of a therapeutic sequence of exercises wherein the therapeutic sequence of exercises includes a plurality of primitive motions, receiving a data stream from a motion-sensing device, analyzing the data stream and comparing the data stream to corresponding therapeutic exercises to identify a mistake when a comparison result is below a first threshold, updating a mistake counter when the comparing identifies that the user failed to perform a therapeutic exercise adequately, updating an alert counter when the mistake counter is above a second threshold, sending a first alert message to a medical professional when the mistake counter is greater than a third threshold, sending a second alert message to a caregiver when the alert counter is greater than an alert threshold, and recording an evaluation result.

  • Publication number: 20160096073
Abstract: A game-based method for physical rehabilitation that includes authenticating a user with authentication information input through a communication interface, identifying therapeutic movements by referencing a look-up table stored in a memory, the therapeutic movements being prescribed for the user or associated with a diagnosis of a predetermined physical condition, obtaining a user rehabilitation status stored in the memory, generating a game based on the therapeutic movements and the user status wherein the game includes controlling browsing of a map by detecting the therapeutic movements performed by the user, providing the game to the user, receiving a data stream from a motion-sensing device that monitors an actual movement of the user in correspondence to the therapeutic movements, analyzing the data stream to calculate information metrics that are associated with the correspondence of the actual movements to the therapeutic movements, and updating the user rehabilitation status based on the information

  • Publication number: 20160073224
Abstract: A boundary regulation detection method and system that stores a list of events, stores one or more dates and times and predetermined areas corresponding to each event, stores one or more predetermined areas determined as a function of a particular event, determines a user current location and current date and time, generates an alert in response to determining that the current date and time corresponds with the date and time, analyzes whether the user current location is not within a predetermined area and instructs the user to enter the predetermined area if the user current location is not within the predetermined area. The method based on the current date, time and user location issues appropriate alerts.

  • Publication number: 20160072900
Abstract: A context aware service generation method and system that stores a list of events, stores one or more dates and times each corresponding to an event, receives user data indicating a state of the user, determines whether a current date and time corresponds with a date and time stored in the memory, determines an event in response to determining that the current date and time corresponds with the date and time, determines a user context based on the user data, and generates a subset of services based on the user context and the event. The method uses crowd sourcing technique to generate services to the users.

  • Publication number: 20150327794
Abstract: A system and method using a single 3D motion sensing Microsoft Kinect for Windows augmented with computer vision algorithms for detecting, recognizing and tracking the movement of different joints of the body of a subject and deducing kinetic and kinematic data from those movements. The method requires only a single motion sensing device and is non-invasive as the subject does not need to wear any external devices on the body. The proposed method incorporates Second Life serious game environment where the patient, the therapist and other members of the community of interest can log-in any time and see all the subject's movements performed by an avatar in Second Life, thereby making the invention particularly useful for disabled hemiplegic children.
