  • Publication number: 20130331029
Abstract: A near field communications (NFC) device is disclosed that interacts with other NFC devices to exchange information and/or the data. The NFC device can include a plurality of secure elements each configured to store one or more card emulation instances. Each card emulation instance is associated with an application identification (AID) and a priority value. The NFC device can route communications between another NFC device and plurality of secure elements based on each card emulation instance's associated AID and priority value.

  • Publication number: 20130166399
Abstract: A method for wirelessly transferring information between a mobile device and a retailer is disclosed. The retailer receives communication protocol information from a mobile device via a NFC communication link between the retailer and the mobile device. The retailer determines a best fit match between communication protocols available to the retailer and available communication protocols received from the mobile device other than the NFC communication link. The retailer sends content information to the mobile device using the best fit match determined by the retailer.

  • Publication number: 20130084803
Abstract: A mobile communication device has a processor, a radio, a near field communication (NFC) device, a battery, and memory for storing data. The power level of the battery is measured. When the measured power level is above a first predetermined level, power is provided to the radio to allow communication. Sufficient power is provided to operate the NFC device as a reader and a tag. When the measured power level of the battery falls below the first predetermined level, battery power to the radio is shut off. Sufficient power is maintained to the NFL device to allow it to operate only as a tag. Sufficient power is maintained to the memory to retain the data stored in the memory. When the measured power level of the battery falls below a second predetermined level, the NFC device is required to harvest all of its power from the field.

  • Publication number: 20130005247
Abstract: Apparatus for harvesting and using power in a near field communications mode, includes a host device with operating components. A first near field communication (NFC) device is contained in the host device and is configured to be selectively coupled to one of the operating components. The first NFC device harvests energy from a second NFC device and converts the harvested energy to electrical power. The first NFC device receives information from the second NFC device and power on the operating component as a function of the information received from the second NFC device. The first NFC device transfers data to or from the operating component when the operating component is powered on. The first NFC device powers off the operating component when the transfer of data between the first NFC device and the operating component has been completed.

  • Publication number: 20130005246
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for negotiating a communication link between first and second near field communication (NFC) devices is disclosed. A third NFC device is placed in close proximity with a first host device operatively containing the first NFC device to determine communication information including at least one of a communication mechanism and a data transfer protocol usable by the first host device. The communication information usable by the first host device is stored in a portable device operatively containing the third NFC device. The third NFC device is momentarily placed in close proximity with the second NFC device. The stored communication information of the first host device is transferred from the portable device to a second host device operatively containing the second NFC device.

  • Publication number: 20050084978
Abstract: The invention is a method for simultaneous and fractional determination of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide, which comprises adding a solution containing peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide to a pH buffer solution with pH from 5 to 6 containing a molybdate, iodine and an iodide ion, and measuring redox potential changes in a reaction of peracetic acid with the iodide ion and a reaction of hydrogen peroxide with the iodide ion, and the concentrations of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide in the mixture of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide can fractionally be measured with ease continuously and simultaneously.
