  • Patent number: 7778815
Abstract: A computer system simulation method starts with algorithmically implementing a specification model independently of hardware architecture. High level functional blocks representing hardware components are connected together using a bus architecture-independent generic channel. The bus architecture-independent generic channel is annotated with timing and protocol details to define an interface between the bus architecture-independent generic channel and functional blocks representing hardware components. The interface is refined to obtain a CCATB for communication space. The read( ) and write( ) interface calls are decomposed into several method calls which correspond to bus pins to obtain observable cycle accuracy for system debugging and validation and to obtain a cycle accurate model.

  • Publication number: 20040031015
Abstract: A system and method for manipulating software is provided. The system analyzes a body of source code and derives a set of components from the software architecture inherent in the body of source code. The system further determines the internal and external functional and data dependencies of each component and the control flow of the software and creates an information model that represents the components, their dependencies, and the control flow of the program. Additionally, the system provides a graphical interface that presents the information model and allows the macro and micro structure of the model to be viewed and modified. Furthermore, components can be combined and separated to refine the software architecture represented by the information model and documentation and new source code can be provided for inclusion in the information model.

  • Patent number: 6526831
Abstract: An apparatus and method monitors the condition of a bearing/shaft assembly by forming diagnostics based on spectral analysis of assembly's vibration. Baseline parameters are determined by a microprocessor analysis of the vibration spectra, comparing actual peaks to the peaks predicted by a model. The microprocessor estimates rotation rate and preferably number of rolling elements by attempting to fit the model to the actual vibrational spectrum, by varying the assumptions. Baseline profiles are formed from one or more selected tones and preferably also harmonics thereof, to characterize the bearing/shaft assembly. The baseline profiles and parameters are compared against later acquired vibrational characteristics, and the comparison is used to diagnose bearing and/or shaft conditions.
