  • Patent number: 7605706
Abstract: An antenna for use with a Radio Frequency Identification, RFID, tag. A well-known, simple “patch antenna” is formed by two metallic plates, one larger than the other, between which is sandwiched a dielectric sheet. Under the invention, the larger metallic plate is provided by the wall of a metallic shipping container. Thus, one form of the invention includes (1) the smaller metallic sheet, (2) the dielectric sheet, and (3) an RFID circuit. When the dielectric sheet is attached to the wall of the shipping container, a patch antenna is generated which the RFID circuit can use.

  • Publication number: 20090108994
Abstract: A radio frequency identification enabled dual-sided direct thermal image element and printer therefor are provided. One embodiment includes, a first substrate having an exterior side and an interior side, a radio frequency identification device attached to the interior side of the first substrate, and a second substrate having an exterior side and an interior side, wherein both the first substrate and the second substrate include a thermally sensitive coating on at least the exterior side thereof, and wherein the interior side of the second substrate is attached to the interior side of the first substrate, such that the radio frequency identification device is positioned between the first substrate and second substrate.

  • Publication number: 20070188327
Abstract: A tunable radio frequency identification device and a method for customizing a radio frequency identification device are disclosed. The method for customizing the radio frequency identification device includes: providing a radio frequency identification device having a tunable antenna; and modifying the tunable antenna. As a result of modifying the antenna the inlay is tuned to operate within one of several frequencies bands.

  • Publication number: 20070132591
Abstract: A radio frequency identification device including a substantially planar surface. Surface has a longitudinal axis and lateral axis. A plurality of discrete longitudinally spaced laterally elongate conductive dipole elements is mounted to surface. In the present embodiment these elements include a director element, a reflector element, and a driven element that is positioned intermediate of the director element and the reflector element. A radio frequency identification chip is conductively attached to driven element.
