  • Patent number: 12282213
Abstract: A terahertz modulator includes a substrate and an organic semiconductor layer. A material of the organic semiconductor layer is graphitic carbon nitride, and the organic semiconductor layer is coated on a surface of the substrate. The terahertz modulator has a high on-off contrast and is able to reach a high modulation speed. A terahertz spatial light modulator includes a terahertz modulator and an automatic pumped light spatial modulator. The automatic pumped light spatial modulator is optically connected with the terahertz modulator. The terahertz spatial light modulator generates a patterned terahertz light, and the terahertz spatial light modulator has a high on-off contrast and is able to reach a high modulation speed.

  • Publication number: 20050245038
Abstract: Varactors are provided which have a high tunability and/or a high quality factor associated therewith as well as methods for fabricating the same. One type of varactor disclosed is a quasi hyper-abrupt base-collector junction varactor which includes a substrate having a collector region of a first conductivity type atop a subcollector region, the collector region having a plurality of isolation regions present therein; reach-through implant regions located between at least a pair of the isolation regions; a SiGe layer atop a portion of the substrate not containing a reach-through implant region, the SiGe layer having an extrinsic base region of a second conductivity type which is different from the first conductivity type; and an antimony implant region located between the extrinsic base region and the subcollector region. Another type of varactor disclosed is an MOS varactor which includes at least a poly gate region and a well region wherein the poly gate region and the well region have opposite polarities.

  • Patent number: 5156079
Abstract: A yarn carrier apparatus particularly suited for use in braiding machinery or the like due to its capability of continuous yarn feeding and retraction of long lengths of yarn. The yarn carrier apparatus comprises a yarn supply spool which is rotatably mounted within the housing, a spring motor also mounted within the housing and operatively connected to the yarn supply spool through a mechanical transmission assembly which is adapted to multiply rotational movement between the first element of the gear assembly operatively connected to the spring motor and the final element of the gear assembly operatively connected to the yarn supply spool. The spring motor is adapted to tension the yarn during both feeding and retraction thereof, and it is further adapted to periodically rotatably slip within the housing and partially unwind so as to allow for continuous withdrawal of a long length of yarn without the spring motor becoming fully wound and preventing further yarn retraction.
