  • Publication number: 20240131476
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to sustainable and green polylactic acid-based membranes embedded with self-assembled positively and negatively charged multiwalled carbon nanotube/graphene oxide nanohybrids for the removal of organic and inorganic nutrients from wastewater, and methods of synthesis of the same. A positively charged multi-walled carbon nanotube/graphene oxide (f-MWCNT/GO) nanohybrid-based mixed matrix membrane can comprise a self-assembled multi-walled carbon nanotube and graphene oxide (f-MWCNT/GO) nanohybrid, and a polylactic acid (PLA) membrane matrix. The f-MWCNT/GO nanohybrid is integrated into the PLA membrane matrix to form the positively charged mixed matrix membrane. A negatively charged multi-walled carbon nanotubes (f-GO/MWCNTs-COOH) nanohybrid-based mixed matrix membrane can comprise a positively charged Graphene Oxide and negatively charged multi-walled carbon nanotube-COOH (f-GO/MWCNTs-COOH) nanohybrid, and a polylactic acid (PLA) membrane matrix.

  • Publication number: 20240072696
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of monitoring and/or controlling an electro-mechanical device, such as an electrical motor and/or generator, includes determining a first probability distribution of a virtual measurement variable, such as temperature at a predetermined position, of the electro-mechanical device. A confidence level is determined for a first value of the virtual measurement variable based on the first probability distribution. An operating mode of the electro-mechanical device is changed based on the confidence level, and/or an indication is displayed on a display. The indication instructs a user to change the operating mode of the electro-mechanical device.

  • Publication number: 20240031388
Abstract: For detecting a cyber-attack on a machine controller, a concurrent simulation of the machine is run in a secured access domain. From the machine controller actual control data are transmitted to the machine and resulting monitoring data are transmitted to a monitoring device. Furthermore, sensor data of the machine are transmitted to the concurrent simulation on a first secured transmission path. Based on the sensor data, the concurrent simulation simulates an operational behavior of the machine, thus inferring simulated monitoring data. The simulated monitoring data are then compared with the resulting monitoring, and an alarm signal is triggered depending on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 11748071
Abstract: Developer and runtime environments supporting multi-modal input for computing systems are disclosed. The developer environment includes a gesture library of human body gestures (e.g., hand gestures) that a previously-trained, system-level gesture recognition machine is configured to recognize. The developer environment further includes a user interface for linking a gesture of the gesture library with a semantic descriptor that is assigned to a function of the application program. The application program is executable to implement the function responsive to receiving an indication of the gesture recognized by the gesture recognition machine within image data captured by a camera. The semantic descriptor may be additionally linked to a different input modality than the gesture, such as a natural language input.

  • Publication number: 20220292593
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program to automatically match and facilitate an online service, skill, talent or knowledge providers (referred to as tutors) with corresponding consumers (referred to as tutees) for online tutoring session deliveries in either a synchronous (real-time) or asynchronous (pre-recorded material) manners. Automatic promotional videos are created for each tutor based on their previously recorded tutoring sessions and automatic ordering and swapping of the tutoring sessions search categories are done based on the calculated interest scores of those categories. A reverse bidding tutoring session request with a maximum tutee budget is initiated to identify interested tutors. Positive post-session reviews result in automatic endorsements of talents for both the tutors and the tutees. New tutorial topics with specific budget goals are delivered if enough tutees contribute. The matching system provides reward points to tutors and tutees based on their positive interactions using the system.

  • Publication number: 20220177016
Abstract: For diagnosing a railroad switch with a point machine, a first and a second time series of a sensor signal of the point machine are received. Moreover, changes in the first and the second time series are detected indicating changes of operational conditions of the point machine. Furthermore, an event point of a respective change in the first and in the second time series is allocated to a respective component of the railroad switch or of the point machine based on a simulation modelling the respective component. Then for a respective component: event points allocated to that respective component are identified, the sensor signal at a first identified event point in the first time series is compared with the sensor signal at a second identified event point in the second time series, and depending on the comparison a component-specific fault information and an identification of the respective component are output.

  • Patent number: 11243526
Abstract: A plurality of basic simulations independent of one another are carried out, which determine respective remaining service life predictions for the machine. The remaining service life predictions and characteristic data are fed to a neural network, which outputs weights for the remaining service life predictions. A final prediction is calculated from the remaining service life predictions by weighting the remaining service life predictions relative to one another. A hybrid model is produced, which results from the combination of the basic simulations with the neural network. The remaining service life can be predicted not only for a small number of machines for which a specific simulation model has been manually created. The hybrid model enables condition monitoring for any further types and configurations of machines that merely belong to the same machine class. The basic simulations can therefore also be applied to previously unknown machines.

  • Patent number: 11012367
Abstract: Technologies for managing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) packet delivery include a network interface controller (NIC) of a computing device. The NIC is configured to retrieve identifying data from received IP packets and identify a TCP data stream associated with each received IP packet based on the retrieved identifying data. Additionally, the NIC is configured to determine a service data flow queue associated with the TCP data stream, determine whether a plurality of IP packets presently enqueued in the determined service data flow queue are out of order, and enqueue the received IP packet at a tail of the identified service data flow queue if the NIC determines that the plurality of IP packets presently enqueued in the determined service data flow queue are out of order. Other embodiments are described herein.

  • Patent number: 10979885
Abstract: Network hardware devices organized in a wireless mesh network (WMN). A first mesh network device performs a three-stage discovery protocol; in a first stage, a discovery scan uses a first radio to find a set of neighbor devices in proximity; in a second stage, a discovery locate probe process is performed on a secondary discovery channel that is from a same frequency band group as a first DFS channel; in a third stage, a CAC is performed via the first DFS channel and, after the CAC, a neighbor peering request is sent and a neighbor peering response is received from a second mesh network device via a second radio. The neighbor peering response confirms establishment of a first communication channel between the second radio of the first mesh network device and a radio of the second mesh network device over the first DFS channel.
