Abstract: A method of balancing voltages on flying capacitors in a multilevel power converter is provided (along with an associated controller). The power converter includes one or more flying capacitors. Pairs of switches in the power converter are controlled by pulse width modulated (PWM) control signals. The different pairs of switches are controlled by PWM control signals having a phase/timing shift between them. To balance the voltage on the one or more flying capacitors, one set of pulses can be widened or narrowed while another set is widened or narrowed. To change their widths, one edge of each pulse is modulated, while the other edge is unchanged. More specifically, the leading edge of one set of pulses is modulated, while the trailing edge of the other set of pulses is modulated.

Abstract: A method for selecting one or more Regions of Interest (RoIs) for human annotations includes obtaining sensor data generated by one or more sensors of a vehicle; applying at least one class-agnostic heuristic function to the sensor data to determine a presence and an approximate position of one or more objects in an RoI of the sensor data; selecting one or more RoIs having proposed annotations for the one or more objects for refinement by an annotator; and outputting the one or more selected RoIs.

Abstract: Aspects relate to a three-dimensional (3D) printing device including a gantry system configured to move a build platform between the different stages of the printing process. The stages may include, for example, printing, washing, and post curing. The gantry system includes a gantry rail and a gantry carriage. The gantry carriage can be removably attached to a build platform on which a printed object is printed and the gantry rail can then move the build platform between at least the printing and washing stages.

Systems, methods are for seamless measurement collection, analysis, and integration with design software to create and maintaining exact as-built digital twins and capturing deviation of deployed systems from designs. Facilitate determining positioning using distributed antenna system with service availability monitoring. Positioning methods include network-based methods, handset-assisted methods in addition to a monitoring system to report any service outage and possible location information loss. Combined monitoring system that monitors antenna output power for mobile coverage and service availability helps also in monitoring the availability of the localization system and dynamic update of lookup information.

Abstract: An emergency backup power source for an electrically controlled and motorized window shade unit includes an input power switch, and charge and discharge control circuit, and a supercapacitor bank. During normal operation a nominal voltage level from a main power source of the aircraft is provided directly to the window shade unit through the input power switch, and the supercapacitor bank is charged. The input voltage is monitored by the emergency backup power source, which controls the input power switch. When the input voltage drops below a threshold level, the input power switch is opened and the charge and discharge circuit operates to provide an emergency output voltage to the window shade unit from the supercapacitor bank so that the window shade can be fully opened or closed, as is required.

Abstract: Methods and wireless communication devices for processing wireless signals with adaptive frequency shift correction. An embodiment of the method includes receiving a wireless signal by the receiver, performing packet detection to detect at least a portion of a preamble part of a current frame carried in the wireless signal according to a default frequency output from a Phase Lock Loop (PLL), estimating a frequency offset between the default frequency and a frequency used to carry information in the preamble part of the current frame, reconfiguring the PLL according to the frequency offset to output a compensated frequency, and processing a packet part of the current frame using the compensated frequency output from the PLL. The method may further mitigate the impact of a residual Direct current (DC) component by filtering the wireless signal based on the compensated frequency.

An example apparatus includes an anti-aliasing circuit configured to reduce a bandwidth of a first differential signal, and a switched-capacitor circuit coupled to the anti-aliasing circuit configured to control a first switch to charge a capacitor to a first voltage based on a first difference between (i) a common mode input voltage associated with a first common mode voltage of the first differential signal and (ii) a common mode reference voltage associated with a second common mode voltage of an input stage of the receiver, control a second switch to provide a second voltage to the capacitor based on a second difference between the first differential signal and the common mode input voltage, and output a second differential signal to the input stage based on the first differential signal adjusted by the second voltage.

Certain aspects include a computing device for a service provider that receives a query from a user for video content. The computing device forwards the query to a hosting service, and in response to the query, the computing device receives, from the hosting service, a list of video content items it hosts. The computing device identifies, for each video content item within the list of video content items, an endorsement value associated with one or more experts. In some aspects, the computing device generates an aggregated list of video content items from a plurality of lists of video content items based on endorsement values. The computing device provides recommendations to the user using the endorsement values.

Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable mediums for performing workloads on hardware configurations. The method includes determining compliant hardware configurations of the data cluster using workload features associated with the workload, hardware specification information associated with hardware of data nodes of a data cluster, and a first machine learning model; generating performance predictions associated with the compliant hardware configurations using the workload features, a portion of the hardware specification information associated with the compliant hardware configurations, and a second machine learning model; and generating a recommendation using the performance predictions, and the recommendation specifies a hardware configuration of the compliant hardware configurations. The workload is performed using the recommendation.

Abstract: A microgrid (MG) controller can control a plurality of distributed generators (DGs) of photovoltaic (PV) arrays. The MG controller can include a power sharing unit configured to share power proportionally in a single current controlled mode (CCM) between the plurality of DGs based on a power capacity for each DG. The power sharing unit can include a robust current droop controller (RCDC) configured to provide proportional active current shared between the plurality of DGs. The power sharing unit can also include a quasi-proportional resonant (QPR) regulator coupled to the RCDC within a unified architecture. The QPR regulator can be configured to regulate a reference current signal.

Abstract: The method for producing medium viscosity carboxymethyl cellulose from date palm fronds includes drying date palm fronds, grinding the dried date palm fronds to a powder, mixing the powder with an alkaline solution to a provide a slurry, isolating a cellulose extract from the slurry, drying the cellulose extract, grinding the dried cellulose extract to a powder, adding isopropanol to the powder to provide a mixture, adding an alkaline solution to the mixture to provide an alkaline mixture, and adding a mixture of monochloroacetic acid and trichloroacetic acid to the alkaline mixture to provide carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as an alkaline salt thereof. The CMC can be used for cultivating desert land while saving water.
