  • Publication number: 20240073182
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing deployment of applications and services within a network having a plurality of edge platforms. A domain name service (DNS) request from a client device requesting for content from a third-party provider is modified to include location information indicating a client device location. A deployment manager uses the location information in the modified request to select a nearby edge platform for servicing the request. Changes to the edge platform servicing the request may be imitated based on changes in location information received in future requests. The deployment manager may also maintain a database to track resources that are already deployed in nearby edge platforms, conserving resources when selecting the edge platforms to service requests. The deployment manager also directs third-party content providers to the edge platform using a separate service so that communication with third-party content providers does not share the location information.

  • Patent number: 10749744
Abstract: A method for enhanced performance of a telecommunications network includes a first step and/or a second step. The first step includes: the first mobility management entity receives update configuration data; the first configuration data of the first mobility management entity are at least in part replaced or modified by the update configuration data; either the update configuration data or at least part of the updated first configuration data are transmitted to the second mobility management entity; and the second configuration data of the second mobility management entity are at least in part replaced or modified by the update configuration data or by the at least part of the updated first configuration data.

  • Patent number: 10405233
Abstract: A method for enhanced overload protection in a telecommunications network includes: receiving, by a serving gateway entity, a plurality of downlink data packets for a subset of user equipments from at least one packet data network; assigning, by the telecommunications network, a first traffic priority information to a first part of the plurality of downlink data packets and a second traffic priority information to a second part of the plurality of downlink data packets, the first traffic priority information being associated with a lower traffic priority than the second traffic priority information; throttling, by the serving gateway entity, during an overload time interval, first downlink data notification (DDN) requests to the mobility management entity; and transmitting, by the serving gateway entity, during the overload time interval, second DDN requests to the mobility management entity.

  • Patent number: 10063483
Abstract: A method for enhanced load balancing in a mobile communication network includes indicating, by a home subscriber server, allocation type information and allocation mode information to a mobility management entity. A user equipment is connected or requests to be connected to the mobile communication network using an access point name identifier and a packet data network. The mobility management entity and the home subscriber server are involved in providing communication services of the mobile communication network to the user equipment and/or connecting the user equipment to the mobile communication network. A packet data network gateway is to be selected for providing the communications services of the mobile communication network.
