  • Publication number: 20240094433
Abstract: An integrated autonomous operation system that holistically renders the operation in digital form at multiple scales, including reservoir, surface infrastructure, workflows, processes, and the real asset. The system provides an end-to-end digital twin connecting subsurface to production. A subsurface model identifies and monitors water-producing zones for strategic decisions. The models use intelligent AI to provide optimum water injection setpoints. The models provide data to systems that automatically control the chokes and valves to meet the setpoints, thus achieving fully integrated, autonomous operations.

  • Publication number: 20240070465
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to automated data preparation techniques usable to improve machine learning (ML) pipelines. Different error detectors are executed on a dirty dataset to identify which records therein include errors. Each record that has been identified by at least a threshold number of the error detectors as including an error is marked as erroneous. The dirty dataset's records are divided into clean and dirty fractions. If a data exclusion error has emerged, the process is repeated. Otherwise, a new set of data samples is generated by applying a variational autoencoder (VAE) to the clean fraction, the dirty dataset is augmented with the new set of data samples, and the augmented dirty dataset is provided for training of the ML model. It thus becomes possible to better training an ML model without having to repair data determined to include errors.

  • Patent number: 11581950
Abstract: Techniques are described for implementing an out-of-band communication channel used to exchange control channel information in sub-carrier-based optical communication systems. In an example implementation, an optical communication system includes a primary transceiver, a component, and secondary transceivers. The primary transceiver is operable to supply first optical subcarriers to an optical communication path, the first optical subcarriers being amplitude modulated at a first frequency to carry first control information and amplitude modulated at a second frequency to carry second control information. The component is operable to be coupled to the optical communication path and includes circuitry operable to detect the first control information. The secondary transceivers are coupled to a terminal end of the optical communication path. At least one of the secondary transceivers is operable to detect the second control information and block the first control information.

  • Patent number: 11539430
Abstract: Consistent the present disclosure, a network or system is provided in which a hub or primary node may communication with a plurality of leaf or secondary nodes. The hub node may operate or have a capacity that may be greater than that of the leaf nodes. Accordingly, relatively inexpensive leaf nodes may be deployed that receive data carrying optical signals from and supply data carrying optical signals to the hub node. One or more connections may couple each leaf node to the hub node, whereby each connection may include one or more spans or segments of optical fibers, optical amplifiers, and optical add/drop multiplexer, for example. Consistent with an aspect of the present disclosure, optical subcarriers may be transmitted over such connections. The subcarriers may be generated by a combination of a laser and a modulator, such that multiple lasers and modulators are not required, and costs may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20220229403
Abstract: Defining flow control device configurable positions include executing a reservoir simulator on a reservoir model to obtain a collection of flow control device settings defined in continuous space. For each number of multiple numbers of clusters, a cluster analysis is individually performed on the collection to obtain a set of flow control device configurable positions. The set includes the number of flow control device configurable positions and its corresponding inflow area or diameter. Performing the cluster analysis across the numbers generates multiple sets for the multiple numbers of clusters. The sets of flow control device configurable positions are compared to obtain a selected set of flow control device configurable positions, which is presented in a completion design.
