Abstract: A method for updating a content playing model for a media content item includes storing the content playing model for the media content item, the content playing model identifying a first plurality of portions of the media content item and specifying one or more statistical values for each of the first plurality of portions of the media content item, identifying a current play sequence of the media content item, the current play sequence including a second plurality of portions of the media content item, and determining that the second plurality of portions of the media content item includes a subset of portions that is not included in the first plurality of portions of the media content item.

Abstract: A system and method for processing a hover event on a touchscreen device includes obtaining web page data on the touchscreen device. Content corresponding to the web page data is displayed on a touchscreen of the touchscreen device. A determination is made if the web page data includes a web page element associated with a hover event. If the web page data includes the web page element associated with the hover event, a hover button is displayed on the touchscreen in association with the displayed content corresponding to the web page data.

Abstract: Ordering of digital content based on a content model is presented. A user request for digital content is received. A content playing model is selected from a plurality of content prefetching models. The content playing model is used for playing a plurality of portions of the digital content. The content playing models are generated based on prior history associated with the digital content. A play sequence for the digital content is generated based on the selected content playing model. The plurality of portions can be obtained using the play sequence.

A content prefetching model is selected from a plurality of content prefetching models. The content prefetching model is used for prefetching a plurality of portions of the digital content. The content prefetching models are generated based on prior history associated with the digital content. A prefetch sequence for the digital content is generated based on the selected content prefetching model. The plurality of portions can be obtained using the prefetch sequence.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a summary view in a profile are provided. In some aspects, a first set of content items is received. The first set of content items is associated with a profile of a subject member. An interest score is determined for at least a portion of content items in the first set of content items. The interest score for a specific content item is not based on a time when the specific content item was posted. A subset of the first set of content items is determined. The subset includes content items having the interest score within an interest score range. Indicia of the subset are provided for display.

Abstract: An electronic book reader system is configured to provide a partial summarization of an electronic book, the electronic book being made up of a plurality of portions. A plurality of summaries are generated, each corresponding to a different subset of the plurality of portions of the electronic book. An indication of a specific subset of the plurality of portions that a user has read is used to select one or more of the plurality of summaries. The partial summarization is prepared from the selected one or more summaries and the partial summarization is presented to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for disambiguating an input phrase or group of words. An implementation may include receiving a phrase as an input to a processor. The received phrase may be presented on a display device. The received phrase may be determined to be ambiguous based on a threshold uncertainty in either a definition or a pronunciation related to the phrase. An indication may be provided that a word in the phrase is the cause of the ambiguity. A menu of words with each word incorporating at least one diacritic mark to a word in the received phrase to disambiguate the received phrase may be presented. A word from the menu of words may be selected and presented on the display device.
