  • Publication number: 20250087023
Abstract: A system for authentication of a user includes a light source to transmit polarized light, a polarization sensor, and processing logic. The system may cause the light source to illuminate an eye of the user with the polarized light, cause the polarization sensor to take an image of the eye to collect polarization characteristics particular to the eye when illuminated with the polarized light, and compare the polarization characteristics with previously collected polarization characteristics to authenticate the user.

  • Publication number: 20250021642
Abstract: While a compiler compiles source code to create an executable binary, code is added into the compiled source code that, when executed, identifies and stores in a metadata table base and bounds information associated with memory allocations. Additionally, additional code is added into the compiled source code that enables hardware to determine a safety of memory access requests during an implementation of the compiled source code by performing an out-of-bounds (OOB) check in hardware using the base and bounds information stored in the metadata table. This enables the identification and avoidance of unsafe memory operations during the implementation of the executable by a GPU.

  • Publication number: 20240345388
Abstract: A waveguide system in a lens assembly of a head mounted device may be used to support eye tracking operations. The waveguide system includes a waveguide, an input coupler, and an output coupler. The input coupler is disposed in the waveguide, and the input coupler is configured to in-couple light into the waveguide. The output coupler is disposed in the waveguide and is configured to out-couple the light from the waveguide. The output coupler includes at least one trapezoidal portion to condition the depth of field for the waveguide system. The output coupler may have two (dual) trapezoidal portions that are similar to the shape of a bowtie or hourglass to configure the depth of field of the waveguide system along a particular direction (e.g., the y-axis). The bowtie shape of the output coupler provides uniform in-coupling of light from the input coupler along a range of angles.

  • Publication number: 20240184670
Abstract: Implicit Memory Tagging (IMT) mechanisms utilizing alias-free memory tags that enable hardware-assisted memory tagging without incurring storage overhead above those incurred by conventional tagging mechanisms, while providing enhanced data integrity and memory security. The IMT mechanisms enhance the utility of error correcting codes (ECCs) to test memory tags in addition to the traditional utility of ECCs for detecting and correcting data errors and enable a finer granularity of memory tagging than many conventional approaches.
