Publication number: 20240372271Abstract: Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is a wireless technology for the transmission of large amounts of digital data as modulated coded impulses over a very wide frequency spectrum with very low power over a short distance. However, to support their deployment in a wide range of applications it would be beneficial to provide solutions which: exploit multiple directive antennas oriented in different directions to ensure spatial filtering of undesired signals and increase signal strength; exploit dynamic configuration of the multi-pulse bundles employed to transmit the bits/symbols within the packets to enhance link quality of service; exploit dynamic configuration of the band or bands which the transmitter operates upon; and exploit antenna sub-systems providing omnidirectional radiation patterns with implementations offering filtering and balun functions with small footprint and low cost.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2024Publication date: November 7, 2024Inventors: FREDERIC NABKI, DOMINIC DESLANDES, MICHIEL SOER, GABRIEL MORIN-LAPORTE, MOHAMMAD TAHERZADEH-SANI, RAPHAEL GUIMOND, MOHAMMAD HASSAN RAHMANI

Publication number: 20240356594Abstract: Ultra-wideband (UWB) systems are well-suited to applications such peripheral and device interconnections, sensor networks, control and communications, medical systems, and personal area networks. Whilst emission levels permitted by regulatory agencies are low forcing UWB systems tend to short-range applications other applications may be considered where regulatory restrictions are relaxed and/or not present when addressing military and civilian requirements for communications between individuals, electronic devices, control centers, and electronic systems for example. Accordingly, UWB transmitters, UWB receivers and UWB transceivers are outlined providing flexible configuration and management by the electronic devices, such as portable electronic devices, fixed electronic devices, and sensors for example, to enable their deployment including standalone systems solely exploiting solar harvesting.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2022Publication date: October 24, 2024Inventors: FREDERIC NABKI, DOMINIC DESLANDES, MICHIEL SOER, GABRIEL MORIN-LAPORTE, MOHAMMAD TAHERZADEH-SANI, RAPHAEL GUIMOND, MOHAMMAD HASSAN RAHMANI

Publication number: 20240268886Abstract: A method for generating a propagation and velocity maps for cardiac wavefront propagation including cardiac arrhythmia, sinus rhythm, and paced rhythm. Activation time information is generated in the absence of any time alignment reference, wherein an estimated activation time is a weighted summation of potentially nonlinear and nonorthogonal candidate functions (CFs) selected from a bank of CFs. Time alignments between sequential recordings may be done by including binary level functions among selected CFs. Embodiments are applicable to single catheter mapping and sequential mapping, and are robust as confirmed by the ability to generate propagation maps and conduction velocity in the presence of multiple colliding wavefronts. The propagation and conduction velocity maps may be used for one or more of diagnosing cardiac arrhythmia, localizing cardiac arrhythmia, guiding catheter ablation therapy of cardiac arrhythmia, and guiding cardiac pacing therapy.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Mohammad Hassan Shariat, Damian P. Publication number: 20240169230Abstract: A method is provided for deterministically generating a photonic resource state for computational quantum computing. The method includes producing a sequence of emitted photonic qubits. The sequence of emitted photonic qubits is directed to an optical circulator of a passive entanglement component. The passive entanglement component includes the optical circulator, a delay line, and a Controlled-Z (CZ) gate. Each photon in the sequence of emitted photonic qubits is reflected at the end of the first delay line to generate a sequence of reflected photonic qubits after a predetermined time delay. The CZ gate entangles the sequence of emitted photonic qubits with the sequence of reflected photonic qubits. The optical circulator directs a resource state generated from the sequence of reflected photonic qubits entangled with the sequence of emitted photonic qubits to an output of the passive component. The resource state is emitted as a sequence of entangled photonic qubits.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Applicant: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Alireza Shabani, Seyed Mohammad Hassan Shapourian

Publication number: 20230368514Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for a framework where over-the-air computation (OAC) occurs in both uplink (UL) and downlink (DL), sequentially, in a multi-cell environment to address the latency and the scalability issues of federated edge learning (FEEL). To eliminate the channel state information (CSI) at the edge devices (EDs) and edge servers (ESs) and relax the time-synchronization requirement for the OAC, we use a non-coherent computation scheme, i.e., orthogonal signaling based majority vote (MV). Multiple ESs function as the aggregation nodes in the UL. Each ES determines the MVs independently. After the ESs broadcast the detected MVs, the EDs determine the sign of the gradient through another OAC in the DL. Hence, inter-cell interference is exploited for the OAC. Convergence of the non-convex optimization problem for the FEEL is proven with the proposed OAC framework.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2023Publication date: November 16, 2023Inventors: MOHAMMAD HASSAN ADELI, ALPHAN SAHIN
