  • Publication number: 20220246846
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device designed to mitigate degradation due to heat, and methods of forming such a device, are described. In one example, a memory cell in a memory device includes an insulating layer formed over a substrate, a horizontal crossbar electrode formed over the insulating layer, a metal oxide resistive memory layer formed over the horizontal crossbar electrode, and a vertical crossbar electrode formed over the resistive switching memory layer. In one aspect of the embodiments, the horizontal crossbar electrode includes a thermally conductive horizontal crossbar layer formed over the insulating layer and a platinum horizontal crossbar electrode formed over the thermally conductive horizontal crossbar layer. The thermally conductive horizontal crossbar layer can be a layer of copper for thermal dissipation of heat away from the memory cell during set and reset operations, reducing degradation in the memory device.

  • Patent number: 11158024
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for the rendering of contents communicated between devices. A source device processes a video sequence and transmits it to a target device together with metadata including rendering directives. At the target device, the received video sequence is rendered according to the rendering directives. Rendering is affected by events detected by the target device at the time of rendering or by the target device's information. Transparency masks, generated by the source device, are transmitted in an alpha channel to the target device, and are used for blending the video sequence with a secondary content.

  • Patent number: 10528709
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can notify a media application when a screen recording may be in progress. For example, the computing device can be configured to send media content provided by the media application for presentation on the display of the computing device to a second destination (e.g., a file, a remote playback device, a remote recording device, etc.) that may result in a recording of the display screen of the computing device. To allow the media application an opportunity to protect the media content from unauthorized recording, the computing device can notify the media application that the media content being sent to the second destination may be recorded. In response to receiving the notification, the media application can modify the presentation of the media content to prevent or downgrade any recording that may be performed.

  • Publication number: 20050025369
Abstract: Disclosed herein in one embodiment is an adaptive coding threshold algorithm for a videoconference system which alleviates problems due to the erroneous recoding of stationary areas of images caused by image noise. The algorithm, which is preferably implementable on a videoconference encoder, assesses the coding parameters for a current macroblock and the coding parameters for that same macroblock the last time it was coded. If for both macroblocks the coding was non-intra, with a [0,0] motion vector, and with a low quantization parameter, a determination is made that the current macroblock depicts a stationary image. Accordingly, the algorithm increases the coding threshold (T1) for the blocks within that macroblock, so that it becomes more difficult for those particular blocks to be recoded. This renders the block with stationary content less susceptible to erroneous recoding, while preserving system bandwidth and improving image quality.
