  • Patent number: 11275860
Abstract: A system and a method for verification of a source code are provided. There as many techniques available that can be used for verification of software codes, however, it is difficult to determine appropriate technique that can be utilized for verification of a given software code. In an embodiment, the system receives a source code encoded with one or more specifications to be verified. A static analysis of the source code is performed to identify program features of the source code. The program features may include, but are not limited to, multiple return paths, loops with an unstructured control flow, loops with arrays, short ranges and numerical loops. Based on the identification of the program features, verification techniques are applied to the source code for the verification. Each verification technique of the one or more verification techniques is applied for a predetermined period of time and in a predefined order.

  • Publication number: 20150275095
Abstract: An apparatus and methodology for storing bitumen froth comprising a fluidized bottom, froth first feed holding tank for maintaining effective tank capacity while reducing overall solid bed build up at side walls and minimizing sloughing of solids to the froth discharge outlet. Froth is fed to the tank through one or more feed inlets located between the froth outlet and side walls for fluidizing settling solids. The feed inlets urge solids to settle in sub-beds about the feed inlets, the height of which that manifests adjacent the side walls being less that some design threshold height; if not, then successive feed inlets are located between the side walls and the precious feed inlets to build further sub-beds that have a height at the wall that is less than the threshold height.

  • Publication number: 20070230667
Abstract: A system and method for performing DSL assessments of a telephone line along a prescribed test path is disclosed. The disclosed system includes a loop diagnostic test unit adapted for testing said telephone line using narrow-band and mid-band frequency test signals; a test system controller and a test system server to provide the DSL assessments to a user via an appropriate interface. In addition, the disclosed methods include the basic steps of: accessing the telephone line along the test path that includes selected hardware such as a voice switch test bus, central office splitter, service provider instruments and terminations; ascertaining various line characteristics along the test path using mid-band and narrow-band frequency signals; analyzing the line characteristics to identify line conditions that affect DSL service; and determining the impact of the line conditions on DSL service.

  • Patent number: 6536240
Abstract: A method for producing an optical fiber preform starting with a first-generation target typically comprising pure silica. A plasma torch deposits an annular region of doped silica to form an intermediate structure. The intermediate structure is drawn down to a second-generation target and another annular region of doped silica is deposited. The process is repeated a plurality of times until an Nth generation target is formed. The deposition optionally employs repeated cycles of depositing a plurality of layers of silica at a high traversal rate without sintering, followed by periodic sintering. In a further embodiment, stabilizer bars extending out from the plasma coils improve distribution of the deposition material. Another embodiment injects the source gas into a particular region of the plasma for control of soot deposition.

  • Patent number: 6253580
Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a tubular member, which is suitable for use as a starter tube or an optical fiber preform, on a rotating cylindrical target mounted on a lathe. The tubular member is made by means of plasma outside vapor deposition. In this process, a source gas comprising SiCl4 and, optionally, a fluorine-laden chemical, is introduced into an air plasma. Both the air and the source gas are dry gases and have low hydroxyl content. The air plasma is created by a high-frequency induction plasma torch which travels along the length of the target on a carriage. The torch is provided with a short U-shaped gutter on either side of its rim directly beneath the target and the growing tubular member. This gutter helps channel reaction products of the source gas and the plasma so as to enhance deposition on the growing tubular member.
