  • Patent number: 10683780
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a phase control apparatus in a variable cam timing (VCT) system of an engine, the phase control apparatus having a locked configuration where a locking pin coupled to a first vane of the vane rotor is engaged with a locking pin recess in a cover plate of the phase control apparatus. In one example, the phase control apparatus includes a rubber or plastic isolator pad positioned in a recess in a wall adjacent to the first vane such that when the vane rotor is rotated to the locked configuration, the first vane contacts the isolator pad before it can strike the housing. The isolator pad serves to maintain the gap between the first vane and the housing, and also reduces the likelihood of other vanes of the vane rotor from striking the housing.

  • Patent number: 10667929
Abstract: An improved method of determining prosthetic alignment utilizes a system which includes multiple movable laser units and an integrated scale to measure angles and other variables of an uninjured leg of a patient based on anatomical landmarks, compare those to angles and variables of an amputated side, and make adjustments to a prosthetic device utilized for the amputated side based on the comparison to ensure proper alignment. For example, the amount of tilt to the side of the prosthetic socket, the amount of tilt to the front and back of the prosthetic socket, the amount of tilt of the prosthetic foot on the sagittal plane, the displacement of the prosthetic foot on the sagittal plane, the rotation of the prosthetic foot on the transverse plane, and the height of the prosthetic device can thereby be adjusted based on measured parameters of the uninjured leg to ensure proper alignment.

  • Patent number: 10665157
Abstract: Systems and methods reduce likelihood of hysteresis that reduces perceived image quality of a subsequent image frame by toggling the display pixels to relax the display pixels by overwriting previous image frame data. During non-emission periods of the pixels, the pixels may be pre-toggled or exercised to improve response time and accuracy of the pixel. Data for pixels being programmed may also be used to pre-toggle other pixels reducing overhead but increasing cross-talk. Since the amount of cross-talk is related to content of the pixels being pre-toggled, a line buffer may be used to store image data for the pixels being pre-toggled. This stored image data may be used to determine how much pre-compensation is to be applied to data for the pixels being programmed. In other words, an amount of compensation applied is based at least in part on the content (e.g., greyscale levels) of the image data.

  • Publication number: 20200143750
Abstract: A display device may include rows of pixels that display image data on a display and a circuit. The circuit may receive pixel data value of image data for a pixel in a first row of the rows of pixels, determine a weight factor to apply to the pixel data value based on a position of the first row with respect to the other rows, such that each row is associated with a current-resistance (IR) drop across the display. The weight factor is determined based on a respective IR drop associated with the first row. The circuit may also generate a weighted pixel data value based on the weight factor and the pixel data value and send the weighted pixel data value to a display driver circuit that renders the image data via the display.

  • Patent number: 10634231
Abstract: Gears are known to have a whine that can be unpleasant to operators or occupants of vehicles. A gear set is disclosed in which the pressure angle of the teeth varies along the periphery of the gear. A mating gear also has teeth with varying pressure angle. The teeth that mate have an identical pressure angle so that present disclosure is applicable only to 1:1 or integer ratio gears: 2:1, 3:1, etc. Because the teeth meet differently as a function of the pressure angle, the fundamental vibration frequency is not reinforced as would be the case with all teeth having the same pressure angle.
