  • Patent number: 7787870
Abstract: A method (10) and system (200) for associating a user profile (39) to Caller ID signal can include a processor (202) that is controlled under an operating system allowing multiple profiles. The processor extract (12) Caller ID information from a Caller ID signal, associate (14) at least a portion of the Caller ID information with at least a predetermined profile stored on the wireless communication device, and enable (16) access to the predetermined profile only when the portion of the Caller ID information is associated with the predetermined profile stored on the wireless communication device. The method can store (18) separate profiles on the wireless communication device for each Caller ID or for each predetermined set of Caller IDs or store separate multiple profiles for each Caller ID or set of Caller IDs and further enable user selection among the multiple profiles.

  • Publication number: 20080081609
Abstract: A method (10) and system (200) for associating a user profile (39) to SIM card (38) can include a processor (202) that is controlled under an operating system allowing multiple profiles. The processor extract (12) subscriber identity information from the SIM card when the SIM card is coupled to the wireless communication device, associate (14) at least a portion of the subscriber identity information from the SIM card with at least a predetermined profile stored on the wireless communication device, and enable (16) access to the predetermined profile only when the portion of the subscriber identity information is associated with the predetermined profile stored on the wireless communication device. The method can store (18) separate profiles on the wireless communication device for each SIM card used on the wireless communication device or store separate multiple profiles on the wireless communication device for each SIM card used.

  • Publication number: 20060215242
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for dynamically appending an image to a message within a communication device by capturing the image (305) using an image capture means while composing the message and simultaneously appending the image to the message (320). The present invention also relates to all communication devices (106, 205) equipped with an image capture means and a messaging means (110, 210) adapted to append the image to the message when the image is captured while composing the message.

  • Publication number: 20040225966
Abstract: A method and a device (100) for displaying appointments includes: displaying an analog clock face (202) divided into a plurality of time regions, such as twelve hour intervals, on the display (109); associating time regions, such as the twelve hour intervals with appointments; and marking the associated time regions (204, 206, 208) thereby visually indicating appointments. In one embodiment, marking includes using one or more of pattern, color, hue, gray scale, and image features.

  • Patent number: 6556131
Abstract: A communication device (100) employs a method and apparatus for indicating to a user of the communication device that only a portion of a received message (120) can be displayed to the user. Some time after receipt of a message, the communication device displays a portion of the received message and one of at least two different truncation symbols in the event that the entire message cannot be displayed. Each truncation symbol indicates to the user a particular reason why the entire received message could not be displayed. For example, if the entire message could not be decoded reliably, the communication device displays a portion of the message and a message error truncation symbol. Alternatively, if a length of the received message exceeds an amount of memory allocated for the message, the communication device displays a portion of the message and a message length truncation symbol.
