The state of the sign can be changed by the elements attached to the top layer. A bias voltage applied at the biasing means causes states of at least one element to change, and an operation mode of the metasurface to switch. The motorized sign may include multiple planes to shape a specific corner reflector with proper RCS. The direction or opening of a motorized sign can be controlled. The radar traffic sign has an ON mode to reflect the radar signal, and an OFF mode where the radar signal is not reflected.
