Abstract: In one embodiment, a video analytics system includes a camera network for capturing one or more videos and an EVA (electronic video analytics) platform, coupled to the camera network, operable to perform one or more of video aggregation, encryption, storage and analysis. The EVA platform has a content store for storing videos of the one or more captured videos, an event detection engine for defining one or more events that are each assigned a unique key when encountered in a video of the one or more captured videos, an aggregator for aggregating event-containing videos, and a renderer for rendering the event-containing videos.

Abstract: A method of communicating a packet sent from a sending processing element to a recipient processing element over a fast Ethernet network is provided, wherein an offload engine is used to process portions of the Ethernet protocol functions. The offload engine is a field-programmable gate array in communication with a switched fabric, and can send “fake” acknowledgements of a received packet to the sending processing element. If acknowledgement of receipt of the packet is not received by the offload engine prior to expiry of a timer, the offload engine will request the sending processing element resend the packet.

Abstract: CMC boards have standardized dimensions for an “I/O envelope” (to accommodate components for I/O functions) and a “component envelope” (to accommodate components for core board functions). Daughter cards are developed (mainly to perform I/O functions but also to perform core board functions, if desired) that fit within the standardized dimensions of the I/O envelope.
