  • Publication number: 20160327390
Abstract: A resonant gyroscope apparatus has a decoupling mechanism implemented with spring-like flexure members to effectively isolate an axis-symmetric bulk-acoustic wave (BAW) vibratory gyroscope from its substrate, thereby minimizing the effect that external sources of error have on offset and scale-factor. The spring-like structure enables degeneracy of in-plane resonance modes of the annulus and aids in decoupling the in-plane and out-of-plane resonance modes of the resonant annulus, thereby enabling the mode-matched and/or near mode-matched operation of the structure as a vibratory gyroscope in the pitch, roll and yaw-modes.

  • Patent number: 4938428
Abstract: A wire winding system has a plurality of stations, each with a single take-up turntable driven by a variable speed motor. A mobile transfer cart is moveable to a selected station and is operable to effect transfer of the winding of wire from the full spool on the turntable to a take-up spool on the mobile transfer cart and then after the full spool at the turntable is removed and replaced by an empty spool, the mobile transfer cart will effect transfer of the winding of wire to the empty spool on the turntable. The take-up spool on the mobile transfer cart is constructed and arranged to have its effective outer diameter reduced in order to readily effect removal of the wire wound thereon after the wire is transferred to the empty spool on the turntable.

  • Patent number: 4923133
Abstract: A wire winding system includes a capstan assembly for drawing wire at a substantially constant speed and a wind-up unit turntable adapted to receive a spool upon which wire is adapted to be wound. Between the capstan assembly and the wind-up unit turntable is an adjustable wire wind-up tension control system for a plurality of wire gauges. The tension control system comprises dancer means including a dancer pulley, variable weight means, including a chain with a plurality of weights affixed to the chain, and wire gauge selection means, operatively connected to the dancer means and the chain for positioning the chain to apply the predetermined weight for a selected one of the plurality of wire gauges so that a predetermined tension is placed in the wire. A linear sensor is operatively connected to the dancer means for sensing the relative position of the dancer means and providing a signal.

  • Patent number: 4869199
Abstract: A manifold bar for supplying enamel to a die bar is disclosed. A manifold bar has internal passages which provide a flow path from an enamel supply to the feed holes of a die bar. A method for directing a flow of enamel from an enamel supply to a die bar is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4759960
Abstract: A die bar having an integral locking means for selectively engaging transport cables located along the process path of a wire coating apparatus is disclosed. The locking means allows for a die bar to be threaded with wires while in a stationary position, then to engage transport cables which draws the wires along the process path until the die bar reaches a satisfactory position in the process path, where the locking means are released. Claims disclosed are drawn to a die bar with integral locking means, and to a method of transporting wires along the process path using the disclosed die bar.

  • Patent number: 4611747
Abstract: A high speed method of producing continuous length magnet wire coated with a high solids content polymer coating composition. Copper or copper alloy wire segments are joined by brazing utilizing a braze whose melting point is greater than 1000.degree. F. and less than 1600.degree. F. The thus formed joint has a tensile strength greater than 27,000 p.s.i., and is capable of being conformed to the circumference of the wire substrate without substantially altering the surface integrity of the wire. The continuous length magnet wire is preheated to an elevated temperature. The preheated wire is coated with a noncirculating polymer enamel composition having a high solids content and a high viscosity at high speed. The enamel coated wire is then cured.

  • Patent number: 4601918
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for applying high solids enamels to wire wherein the enamel is heated to lower its viscosity to below about 200 cps, the heated enamel is then passed through a discrete, enclosed passageway in a first felt pad. The wire to be coated is then drawn between the first felt pad and a second felt pad in contact with the first felt pad. The wire is passed substantially perpendicular and in front of the discrete passageway of the first felt pad when it is coated with the enamel. The enamel is then formed uniformly and circumferentially about the wire as it exits the felt pads and cured in a curing oven.
