  • Publication number: 20260147477
Abstract: Methods, systems, or apparatuses for storage and access of micro-scaling numerics (MX) format data in memory. The approach may involve organizing MX data into tiled formats that match the read capabilities of consuming hardware blocks, interleaving scaling data with floating-point data, storing floating-point data in raster scan order, and storing scaling data in sub-tiles packed in multiples of a memory line size. A constant product of tile x-size and format size may be maintained across different MX format sizes, ensuring consistent memory utilization. This method may affect memory management for MX format data.

  • Publication number: 20260045957
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various techniques for converting a vector from a high precision floating point format to a microscaling (MX) format. An example of a precision floating point format is the FP32 format described above, however, the initial format may be another type of standard floating point format as well (reference to the FP32 number format hereinafter is merely for exemplary purposes and not intended to be limiting). The techniques for converting to the MX-compliant format are improvements over the standard technique suggested in the MX specification by at least accounting for the amount of data in the mantissa of the original precision floating point format to mitigate the amount of data that is lost during the conversion.

  • Publication number: 20240388488
Abstract: Technology for customized crest factor reduction (CFR) noise shaping includes dividing a frequency band into a plurality of regions, assigning a constellation goal for each region, the respective constellation goal for at least two regions being different, determining a CFR noise level for each region based on the constellation goal for the region and a target CFR noise level for the divided frequency band, creating a cancellation pulse based on scaling factors, and based on the cancellation pulse, applying a cancellation pulse signal on a per-region basis to generate transmission signals having the determined CFR noise level for each region. In examples, a first region has a first constellation goal and a second region has a second constellation goal, and a determined CFR noise level for the first region supports the first constellation goal and a determined CFR noise level for the second region supports the second constellation goal.

  • Publication number: 20240163153
Abstract: A system and method for Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) pulse cancellation (PC) in a single carrier environment or multicarrier telecommunication environment may enable obtaining better signal quality while maintaining Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and/or power efficiency. A PC signal is generated by multiplying a truncated sinc signal with another window signal. The bandwidth of the PC signal may be greater than the bandwidth of the corresponding carrier signal center. The center frequency of the PC signal may be offset with respect to the center frequency for each given carrier in the multi-carrier scenario to fix the edge effect signal quality/interference problems.

  • Patent number: 11770284
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for per carrier scaling of a cancellation pulse of a multi-carrier signal are disclosed. One method includes identifying a target PAPR (peak to average power ratio) for the multi-carrier signal, identifying a target EVM (error vector magnitude) for each of cj carriers of the multi-carrier signal, setting a scaling factor for each of the cj carrier to an initial value, or each carrier cj adjusting the scaling factor for the carrier cj until a measured EVM of the carrier cj satisfies the target EVM for the subcarrier cj while maintaining the PAPR target for the multi-carrier signal, and the cancellation pulse of the multi-carrier signal with the adjusted scaling factor for each of the cj carriers.

  • Publication number: 20230216574
Abstract: A radio unit that is configured to perform calibration of its antennas for beamforming is disclosed. The radio unit may comprise a combiner. The combiner may be configured to cause the antennas to transmit calibration signals. The combiner may cause the calibration signals to rotate to different phases. The different phases may cause non-coherent combining of noise of the calibration signals when the calibration signals are combined. The combiner may combine the rotated calibration signals and the noise may be cancelled by the radio unit. The combiner may calibrate the antennas based on the combined calibration signals.
