  • Publication number: 20260127959
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for matching vehicles related to a collision event involving a first vehicle and a second vehicle. A first collision message having data related to a first collision event detected by the first vehicle with a first unknown vehicle is received by a collision matching application. The collision matching application determines whether a second collision message having data related to a second collision event detected by the second vehicle with a second unknown vehicle has been received. The first and second collision messages are compared to determine whether the first collision event is the same as the second collision event. A first collision report is transmitted to the first vehicle and a second collision report to the second vehicle after determining that the first collision event is the same as the second collision event.

  • Publication number: 20260127888
Abstract: A system and method for collecting evidence with an observer device of a collision event of a vehicle on a road are provided. An image sensor captures image data during the collision event. A communication module receives a collision message broadcast from a vehicle involved in the collision event. An evidence collection module processes image data acquired from the image sensor to determine whether the collision event was captured. The evidence collection module also compares temporal and geographic data from the collision message collected by the involved vehicle during the collision event and with time and location metadata in the image data to flag an image of the collision event. An evidence report including the flagged image of the collision event is generated when the time and location metadata matches the temporal and geographic data, and the image data captured the collision event.

Abstract: A trailer backing assistance (TBA) application in a vehicle includes a vehicle attached to a trailer by a movable hitch. The TBA utilizes an HMI, sensors on the vehicle, a GPS system, and a remote computing system (RCS). A controller having a processor, memory, and input/output (I/O) communicates with the sensors, HMI, RCS and GPS via a V2I communications network. The memory stores the TBA which is executed by the processor. The TBA determines conditions have been satisfied, obtains and processes optical data from sensors and RCS, presents a vehicle environment view, prompts a vehicle operator for first and second inputs, calculates a current location of the vehicle, generates a planned path to a target location, presents an animation of the vehicle traversing the path, and continuously displays a live view of the trailer and hitch while actively adjusting on-screen instructions to guide the vehicle and trailer along the path.
