  • Patent number: 11447710
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for separation of sulfurous material(s) from a multi-component feed stream. The systems and methods can comprise contacting the multi-component feed stream with a solvent in a contacting column so that at least a portion of the sulfurous material(s) is transferred from the multi-component feed stream to the solvent. A stream of a substantially purified gas can thus be provided along with a liquid stream comprising at least a majority of the sulfurous material. In particular, the solvent can comprise liquid carbon dioxide, which can be particularly beneficial for removing sulfurous materials from multi-component feed streams.

  • Publication number: 20220099003
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to cogeneration of power and one or more chemical entities through operation of a power production cycle and treatment of a stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen. A cogeneration process can include carrying out a power production cycle, providing a heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen, cooling the heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen against at least one stream in the power production cycle so as to provide heating to the power production cycle, and carrying out at least one purification step so as to provide a purified stream comprising predominately hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 11174208
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems suitable for chemical production by dehydrogenation of ethane utilizing carbon dioxide as a soft oxidant. Ethane and carbon dioxide are reacted in a catalytic reactor to produce a reaction product stream comprising at least ethylene and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide can be separated for recycling back into the catalytic reactor, and the ethylene can be upgraded using a variety of process units. Heat from the reaction product stream can be recycle for further uses, including reducing the amount of added heating needed in the catalytic reactor. Additional materials, such carbon monoxide, hydrogen, syngas, methanol, methane, ethane, and even heavier hydrocarbons can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20210323818
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for providing one or more chemical compounds in a substantially pure form. In particular, the systems and methods can be configured for separation of carbon dioxide from a process stream, such as a process stream in a hydrogen production system. As such, the present disclosure can provide systems and method for production of hydrogen and/or carbon dioxide.

  • Patent number: 11097221
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that combine direct capture of one or more moieties from a gaseous mixture with one or both of calcium oxide production and power production. The systems and methods can utilize combinations of a capture unit, a regeneration unit, a calcination unit, a slaking unit, a heat exchange unit, a separation unit, and a power production unit. The present disclosure provides the ability to remove carbon dioxide and other moieties from air or other gaseous mixtures in a truly carbon negative manner by utilizing electricity from a power production unit that is operated in a carbon neutral or carbon negative manner and simultaneously provide useful products, such as calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide.
