  • Publication number: 20220244101
Abstract: Aspects relate to a compact material analyzer including a light source, a detector, and a module including a first optical window on a first side of the module, a second optical window on a second side of the module opposite the first side, and a light modulator. The light source produces input light at a high power that is passed through the first optical window to the light modulator. The light modulator is configured to attenuate the input light, produce modulated light based on the input light, and direct the modulated light through the second optical window to the sample. The modulated light produced by the light modulator is at a lower power safe for the sample. The detector is configured to receive output light from the sample produced from interaction with the modulated light through the second optical window and to detect a spectrum of the output light.

Abstract: A smart jarring system for freeing stuck equipment downhole is disclosed. The smart jarring system comprises a set of jars, at least one laser source and at least one laser receiver that corresponds to the at least one laser source. The laser receiver intercepts a laser beam that is emitted from the laser source. This interception helps determine when the set of jars fired and in which direction the set of jars fired. The smart jarring system further comprises one or more sensors selected from the group consisting of vibration sensors, temperature sensors, and torque/tensile sensors. These sensors are configured to diagnose downhole conditions and help free the stuck equipment downhole.

  • Publication number: 20220187858
Abstract: This disclosure presents methods and systems of controlling a counter flow double pipe heat exchanger (DPHE) that includes a hot fluid pipe and a cold fluid pipe. In a method, a temperature error between a reference temperature and a temperature at an outlet of the hot fluid pipe of the counter flow DPHE is determined. A cold fluid mass flow rate is determined from an output of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller based on the temperature error being input to the PID controller. The cold fluid mass flow rate is used for a cold fluid in the cold fluid pipe of the counter flow DPHE. The temperature error is controlled within a predefined range by utilizing parameters of the PID controller that are set by using a harmony search algorithm (HSA) to obtain a minimization of a cost function.

  • Patent number: 11263119
Abstract: Test automation for a web page comprising specifying a number of tests for web page elements comprising specifying a test step for each of a number of web page elements on the web page. Each test step is stored as a metadata object containing a unique identifier for the web page, a unique identifier for the web page element to which the test step corresponds, and a required interaction for the web page element. A test step is selected to perform on a web page element, and the metadata for the element is extracted according to its unique identifier in the test step. An interpreter algorithm processes the metadata to determine what the web page element is, how best to identify the web page element, and commands to perform the required interaction and chooses a selector for the web page element. The test step is then executed.
