Publication number: 20230008457Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for calibrating an occupancy grid mapping a vehicle environment are disclosed. An example method includes identifying a feature of an occupancy grid that maps a vehicle environment in which the occupancy grid provides a primary representation of the feature. The example method also includes determining a quality level of the primary representation of the feature and determining if the quality level satisfies a quality criterion. The example method further includes adjusting a calibration of the occupancy grid if the quality level fails to satisfy the quality criterion. The adjustment of the calibration of the occupancy grid can include adjusting at least one parameter used to generate the occupancy grid to cause the quality level to satisfy the quality criterion.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2022Publication date: January 12, 2023Inventors: Jakub Porebski, Krzysztof Kogut, Maciej Rózewicz, Mohamed Farag

Patent number: 10970445Abstract: Programmable integrated circuits may be used to perform hardware emulation of an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design. The ASIC design may be loaded onto the programmable integrated circuit. During hardware emulation operations, an emulation host may be used to coordinate testing of the DUT on the programmable device. Circuit design tools may be used to extract parasitics from the ASIC design, compute low-level interconnect delays, convert the interconnect delays to higher-level port-to-port delays, convert the port-to-port delays to timing constraints, and generate corresponding configuration data for programming the programmable integrated circuit to emulate the ASIC design. The programmable integrated circuit may then be tested for functional and performance integrity.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2017Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: Mohamed Farag

Publication number: 20160327229Abstract: The presented system is a cost effective and energy saving mean of transmitting sunlight downward into a narrow alleys and streets, by using a day-lighting guiding acrylic panel that is capable of changing the direction and distribution of the incident light. The core of the proposed daylight guidance system is made up of light transmission panels that have sine wave shaped cross-section so that the panel functions as an optical diffusor perpendicular to the optical axis. The system consists of the panels and a lattice frame, which supports the panel. The proposed system is to be mounted on the building roof facing the sun but, since building sizes and orientations are different the frame is designed to be easily rotated to adopt different solar conditions such that substantially deep light penetration and high luminance level can be achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 1, 2015Publication date: November 10, 2016Inventors: Amr Mohamed Ezzat SAFWAT, Khaled Mohamed NASSAR, Ola Mohamed Galal El-Din Ali FAHMY, Sally Ibrahim Mahmoud Mohamed Farag EL-HENAWY, Mohamed Wagih Nairn MOHAMED, Islam Ayman Kamal Mohamed Abdellatif MASHALY, Osama Nabil MOHAMED

Patent number: 9146820Abstract: The WSAN simultaneous failures recovery method ranks each node based on the number of hops to a pre-designated root node in the network. The method identifies some nodes as cluster heads based on the number of their children in the recovery tree. The method assigns a recovery weight and a nearby cluster node to each node. Nearby cluster nodes serve as gateways to other nodes that belong to that cluster. The recovery weight is used to decide which node is better to move in order to achieve lower recovery cost. The recovery method uses the same on-going set of actors to restore connectivity. Simulation results have demonstrated that the recovery method can achieve low recovery cost per failed node in small and large networks. The results have also shown that clustering leads to lower recovery cost if the sub-network needs to re-establish links with the rest of the network.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2013Date of Patent: September 29, 2015Assignee: KING FAHD UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND MINERALSInventors: Abdullah Alfadhly, Uthman Baroudi, Mohamed Farag Younis
