    Abstract: A permanent magnet machine includes a machine housing having an inner surface that extends between a first housing end and a second housing end along a central longitudinal axis. The permanent magnet machine also includes a stator disposed within the machine housing, the stator having a stator core having an exterior surface extending between a first face and a second face along the central longitudinal axis, wherein the exterior surface defines a discontinuous region that is arranged to minimize points of contact between the inner surface and the exterior surface. The discontinuous region is at least partially defined by at least one of a first perturbation and a second perturbation that is circumferentially spaced apart from the first perturbation.

The shielding unit is configured to block a signal from the remote control device to reach the HVAC unit. The signal blocked by the shielding unit includes the user desired set point value. The thermostat is configured to receive the user desired set point value, adjust the user desired set point value based on measured temperature and/or humidity for the target space, and transmit the adjusted user desired set point value to the communication hub.

The processor is configured to determine of low-frequency energy at the speaker system, the low-frequency energy below a threshold frequency. The ANC circuit is configured to, based on the determination of low-frequency energy at the speaker system, perform a corrective action on application of ANC to the audio signals from outside the speaker system.

    Abstract: Gate-all-around integrated circuit structures having nanoribbon sub-fin isolation by backside Si substrate removal etch selective to source and drain epitaxy, are described. For example, an integrated circuit structure includes a plurality of horizontal nanowires above a sub-fin. A gate stack is over the plurality of nanowires and the sub-fin. Epitaxial source or drain structures are on opposite ends of the plurality of horizontal nanowires. The epitaxial growth occurs inside a mold confinement, and due the mold, the lateral wingspan of the wingspan of the epitaxial growth is limited. Also the mold causes the epitaxial source or drain structures to exhibit substantially vertical opposing sidewalls and a top surface having a generally mushroom shape over a top of a dielectric layer.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to aquatic systems and methods for off-shore energy production, and particularly to systems and methods for generating large amounts of methane via anaerobic digestion, purifying the methane produced, and sequestering environmentally deleterious by-products such as carbon dioxide. The energy production systems contain one or more flexible, inflatable containers supported by water, at least one of which is an anaerobic digester containing bacteria which can produce energy sources such as methane or hydrogen from aquatic plants or animals. The containers of the present invention can be large enough to provide adequate amounts of energy to support off-shore activities yet are relatively easy to manufacture and ship to remote production sites. The systems can also be readily adapted to sequester carbon dioxide or recycle nutrients for growing feedstocks on site.

    Abstract: In one embodiment a low voltage high performance memory system is disclosed. The system can include a bit cell, a first pass gate coupled to the bit cell to receive a write signal, a second pass gate coupled to the bit cell to receive the write signal, and an supply current controller to reduce current to at least a portion of the bit cell and to supply current to another portion of the cell in response to a write control signal and a data signal during a bit cell transition. Reducing the current to a portion of the bit cell and supplying current to another portion of the bit cell during transition can allow the bit cell to transition to a different state faster and can reduce the effects of device variations that manifest during low voltage operation. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
