  • Patent number: 11577037
Abstract: Algorithms for detecting endotracheal intubation and/or misplacement of endotracheal tubes in child patients during anesthesia for use with anesthesia machines, mechanical ventilators, and/or respiratory function monitors. An algorithm uses end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2), and tidal volume (TV) or peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) to detect exact intubation time. Another algorithm uses respiratory parameters to identify and/or confirm the type of airway device used during mechanical ventilation, and to detect if and when an issue has arisen with use of a specific airway device to provide real-time decision support to attending medical care professionals.

  • Publication number: 20220378369
Abstract: Measurement devices include a housing featuring a channel, where the housing is dimensioned to be worn in an oral cavity of a user and the channel is positioned such that at least some of the user's teeth are positioned in the channel when the housing is worn, a first sensor positioned within or on a surface of the housing, where the first sensor is configured to generate a first measurement signal that includes information about a position of the measurement device, and a second sensor positioned within or on a surface of the housing, where the second sensor is configured to generate a second measurement signal that includes information about at least one of a biochemical and an electrical property of the user's oral cavity.

  • Publication number: 20060103506
Abstract: An object identification system includes a monitor and a plurality of transceivers that communicate over a common medium. The monitor includes a first transmitter, a first receiver, and a processor. Each transceiver includes a resonant circuit, a transmitter, a receiver, and an antenna coupled to the resonant circuit. The processor performs a method for performing transceiver communication that includes the steps of: (a) transmitting from the first transmitter a first frequency for a first duration; (b) after lapse of the first duration, receiving via the first receiver a response signal from at least one of the resonant circuits; (c) determining a second frequency from the received response signal; and (d) performing transceiver communication using the second frequency.
