Abstract: A method for converting natural gas and carbon dioxide into hydrogen and carbon monoxide using a Ni—Al2O3 catalyst. In one embodiment, the method includes using a dual-mode cyclic reactor. Moreover, the disclosed technology relates to a catalyst, its preparation method, and the process of converting natural gas with carbon dioxide to hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO). The catalyst is used in a cyclic reactor system process that contains two modes of operation (Mode I and Mode II) and two different feeds (Feed A and Feed B), one per mode of operation. Feed A can be a methane, or methane-rich stream. Feed B is specified to be a carbon dioxide, or carbon dioxide-rich stream.

  • Publication number: 20240359977
Abstract: A process is provided that can convert the available CO2 stream (from any captured source) and CH4 (or natural gas, or hydrocarbon gas) stream to separated streams of CO and H2. Multiple options exist for utilization. Synthesis gas can be integrated with an existing syngas facility or combined with H2 from an electrolyze to make methanol or FT synthesis to make liquid fuels. When operating the process with separated H2 and CO streams. These can be integrated into different chemical processes and not necessarily mixed together. For example, H2 can be sold as a product, and CO can be used as a feedstock to make chemicals. The present disclosure is a desirable add-on to an industrial facility to process CO2 emission into the value stream.

  • Patent number: 9208554
Abstract: A system for detecting a class of objects at a location, for example humans on a conveyor belt. A thermal camera may be used to detect objects and to detect the variance of the heat distribution of objects to classify them. Objects detected in an image from one camera may be detected in an image from another camera using geometric correction. A color camera may be used to detect the number of edges and the number of colors of an object to classify it. A color camera may be used with an upright human body classifier to detect humans in an area, and blobs corresponding to the detected humans may be tracked in a thermal or color camera image to detect if a human enters an adjacent forbidden area such as a conveyor belt.

  • Publication number: 20150065694
Abstract: Here, we describe a preassembled plasmonic resonance nanocluster. One embodiment is used for microbe detection and typing. The metallic nanoparticle acceptors with microbe surface antigen epitope, and quantum dot (QD) donors with Fab antibody, are assembled into an immuno-mediated 3D-oriented complex with enhanced energy transfer and fluorescence quenching. The coherent plasmonic resonance between the metal and QD nanoparticles is exploited to achieve improved donor-acceptor resonance within the nanocluster, which in the presence of microbial particles is disassembled in a highly specific manner. The nanocluster provides high detection specificity and sensitivity of the microbes, with a sensitivity limit down to 1-100 particles per microliter and to attomolar levels of a surface antigen epitope. A few specific examples of the plasmonic resonance nanocluster used in microbe detection are disclosed along with ways in which the complex can be easily modified for additional microbes.

  • Patent number: 8045761
Abstract: A method for determining the presence and location of static shadows and other ambient conditions (such as glare, snow, rain, etc.) in a series of time-successive images is provided. Each image comprises a series of image elements locatable on a plane, with each element being associated with a color defined by three chromatic elements. Furthermore, each image is partitioned into a set of elements, with each element comprising one or more pixels. According to the process of the present method, the ambient conditions are detected using a mixture of processes which utilize the chromatic elements, luminance qualities and temporal characteristics of the series of images.
