    Abstract: The present invention provides an adsorbent for removal of con-carbon and contaminant metals in feed, said adsorbent composition consisting of clay in the range of 30-70 wt. % and silica in the range of 70-30 wt. %, wherein the adsorbent has a pore volume in the range of 0.25-0.45 cc/gm; a pore size in the range of 20 to 2000 ? and a bi-modal pore size distribution characteristics, with a maximum of about 32% of the adsorbent having a pore size in the range of 20-200 ? and a minimum of about 68% of the adsorbent having a pore size in the range of 200-2000 ?. The present invention also provides a process for preparing the said adsorbent.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst product for cracking of heavy hydrocarbon feed stocks predominantly in to light olefins and processes for preparing the catalyst. More specifically the present invention relates to a process of preparing Fluidic Catalytic Cracking (FCC) catalyst additive composition. The FCC catalyst additive composition of the present invention is a LPG selective catalyst particles comprising a medium pore zeolite bonded with clay-phosphate-silica-alumina binder. The catalyst of the present invention exhibits improved selectivity towards high value components like propylene and gasoline and suppressing low value components like dry gas and bottoms.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a process for upgrading feed streams containing residual fractions with high concentrations of metals, more specifically nickel content up to 150 ppm employing acidic catalysts comprising large pore rare earth faujasite zeolite component, pentasil zeolite component and pseudoboehemite containing resid cracking component while the composite is impregnated with lanthanum oxide or aluminium oxide or mixture of both. The hydrocarbon feed stock can be sourced from either petroleum derivatives or from coal, tar or sand. The process results in increased selectivity of propylene in LPG in the range of 39-52%.
