Patent number: 10622672Abstract: Composites of lithium-ion-conducting ceramic and polymeric materials make superior separators and electrolytes for use in lithium batteries. The ceramic material provides a high conductivity pathway for lithium-ions, enhancing the properties of the less conductive polymeric material. The polymeric material provides flexibility, binding, and space-filling properties, mitigating the tendency of rigid ceramic materials to break or delaminate. The interface between the polymer and ceramic can be made to have a low ionic resistance through the use of additives and coatings.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2016Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: SEEO, INCInventors: Jonathan C. Publication number: 20200028154Abstract: The accurate determination of the state-of-charge (SOC) of batteries is an important element of battery management. One method to determine SOC is to measure the voltage of the cell and exploiting the correlation between voltage and SOC. For electrodes with sloped charge/discharge profiles, this is a good method. However, for batteries with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathodes the charge/discharge profile is flat. Now, by using the materials and methods disclosed herein, an amount of cathode active material that has a sloped charge/discharge profile is mixed with LFP in a cathode, which results in a charge/discharge profile with enough slope that the SOC of the battery can be determined by measuring the voltage alone.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2019Publication date: January 23, 2020Applicant: Seeo, Inc.Inventors: Mohit Singh, Xiao-Liang Wang

Patent number: 10498312Abstract: A digital filtering method includes receiving a digital signal, and passing the digital signal through a Pth order comb cascade. The method includes beginning pre-computing of intermediate integrator states of a Pth order integrator cascade as a function of the digital signal, prior to receiving output from a last comb of the Pth order comb cascade. The outputs from each comb of the Pth order comb cascade are then applied to the pre-computed intermediate integrator states to thereby produce a filtered version of the digital signal. The Pth order comb cascade may operate at a sampling frequency, and the pre-computing of the intermediate integrator states is performed at the sampling frequency, while the application of the outputs from each comb of the Pth order comb cascade to the pre-computed intermediate integrator states is performed at a multiple of the sampling frequency.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2017Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: STMicroelectronics International N.V.Inventors: Mohit Singh, Ankur Bal
