  • Publication number: 20250059884
Abstract: An apparatus includes a buoyant housing; a sensor arrangement housed within the buoyant housing, the sensor arrangement including an electromagnetic (EM) transmitter and several EM receivers; a wireless communications system to communicate a location of the apparatus within a pipe or other body having a material that is metallic, non-metallic, composite or a combination thereof, to an aerial or terrestrial tracking device; a processor to determining an induced signal value for each of the plurality of EM receivers; receiving the induced signal value for each of the plurality of EM receivers as an input to a neural network (NN); creating a visual representation of a body based on a NN comparison of the induced signal values for each of the EM receivers; and determining whether a body defect exists based on a comparison of the induced signal values for each of the EM receivers performed by the NN.

  • Publication number: 20250060302
Abstract: An apparatus includes a buoyant housing, a sensor arrangement housed within the buoyant housing that includes an electromagnetic (EM) transmitter surrounded by several EM receivers, a hardware processor, and instructions, including determining an induced signal value for each of the plurality of EM receivers; receiving the induced signal value for each of the plurality of EM receivers as an input for a neural network tangibly embodied on the non-transitory computer-readable storage medium; creating a visual representation of a body based on a neural network comparison of the induced signal values for each of the plurality of EM receivers; and determining whether a defect exists on the based on a comparison of the induced signal values for each of the plurality of EM receivers performed by the neural network.

  • Publication number: 20240044808
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method including: generating a definition of a buried pipeline and a tool, wherein the buried pipeline comprises a metal wall, wherein the tool comprises a transmitter and multiple receivers circumferentially positioned inside the metal wall but without contacting the metal wall; obtaining a solver configured to simulate a response on each of the multiple receivers; applying the solver based on, at least in part, the definition of the buried pipeline and the tool when the transmitter sends a known electromagnetic (EM) waveform; generating simulated responses on the multiple receivers from interacting with the wall of the buried pipeline; and based on, at least in part, the simulated responses, training an inference model configured to predict the wall-loss condition of a particular buried pipeline when presented with measurement data inside the particular buried pipeline.
