  • Patent number: 9067469
Abstract: A wheel stabilization mechanism includes an actuator configured to be coupled to a vehicle body and a wheel stabilizer configured to be movably coupled to the vehicle body such that the wheel stabilizer is configured to move with respect to a wheel. The actuator is configured to move the wheel stabilizer with respect to the wheel from a disengaged position toward an engaged position in response to a force applied to the vehicle body. In the engaged position, the wheel stabilizer is configured to inhibit at least a portion of the wheel from moving with respect to the vehicle body to minimize movement of the wheel with respect to the vehicle body.

  • Publication number: 20140203541
Abstract: One variation may include a roof rail air bag having a bulge portion constructed and arranged to extend medially into the occupant cabin of a vehicle a distance greater than the remaining portion of the roof rail air bag. Another variation may include a roof rail air bag having a bulge portion constructed and arranged to extend into the occupant cabin of a vehicle the bulge portion extending a distance so as to overlap at least a portion of an area to be protected or blocked by an inflated driver's side frontal air bag or passenger side frontal air bag. In one variation, the bulge portion may be integrated into the roof rail air bag cushion design. In another variation, the bulge portion may be a separate bulge air bag which may be deployed adjacent the roof rail air bag.

  • Patent number: 7775546
Abstract: A collapsible tow hook for a motor vehicle includes a housing attached to a vehicle structure, a bracket pivotally mounted on the housing, a tow loop attached to the bracket and adapted to receive a tow cable that pulls on the tow loop in a towing direction. An interlocking structure acts between the bracket and the housing to normally support the bracket against pivotal movement but is yieldable to permit pivotal movement of the bracket relative the housing upon the imposition of a load on the tow loop in a direction opposite to the towing direction so that the tow loop is pivoted to a collapsed position relative to the vehicle structure.
