Publication number: 20210262915Abstract: An automated method of particle analysis is performed using an electromagnetic radiation source for generating a beam of electromagnetic radiation, a focusing element for directing the beam to a particle capture zone, a detector configured to detect a signal response from the particle capture zone and a control system. An electromagnetic radiation beam is focused onto a particle-conveying medium to define the particle capture zone for capturing a candidate particle within the beam. A first data acquisition procedure is performed to test for particle capture. If particle capture is not detected, the first data acquisition procedure is repeated. If a particle capture is detected within the beam, a second data acquisition procedure is performed to capture particle data using at least one analysis modality, following which the optical beam intensity is reduced to a sub-capture level to release the particle from the particle capture zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2019Publication date: August 26, 2021Inventors: Molly Stevens, Jelle Penders, Isaac Pence

Publication number: 20120070852Abstract: The present invention relates to an assay for transferases. The assay comprises a first moiety comprising a transferase substrate and a second moiety capable of binding to the transferase substrate after it has been acted on by the transferase. One of the first and second moieties comprises a fluorophore and the other of the first and second moieties causes a change in fluorescence of the fluorophore. Thus, when the second moiety binds the transferase substrate after it has been acted on by the transferase, a change in fluorescence can be detected. The assay allows for agents that modulate the activity of the transferase to be screened.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2009Publication date: March 22, 2012Applicant: IMPERIAL INNOVATIONS LIMITEDInventors: Molly Stevens, James Eric Ghadiali
