  • Patent number: 9386965
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system combines successive images of a time series to produce high-resolution ultrasound. A piecewise registration process and deemphasizing of high-frequency spatial components may be used to aid in the combination process. A high-definition image may be obtained with or separately from this process by combining different images obtained with different ultrasound frequencies. The images are weighted to accentuate the contribution of high-frequency ultrasound data at the leading edge of imaged structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 2013
Date of Patent: July 12, 2016
    Assignee: Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation
Inventors: Ray Vanderby, Mon-Ju Wu, Joseph Karls, Sarah Kuehl, William A. Sethares

  • Publication number: 20120259224
Abstract: An ultrasound machine provides for segmentation of tissue structure that may track isolated tissue structures over multiple frames of data taken over time. Analysis of the isolated tissue structure permits better discrimination of small differences between tissue structures such as may indicate tissue damage or disease.
