Patent number: 11695767Abstract: The techniques herein are directed generally to providing access control and persona validation for interactions. In one embodiment, a method for a first device comprises: interacting with a second device on a communication channel; determining, over a verification channel with a verification service, that an identity of a user communicating on the second device is a verified identity according to the verification service; determining a persona of the user; querying a third-party entity to make a determination whether the persona is validated and to correspondingly determine a current privilege level; and managing interaction with the second device according to the determination whether the persona is validated and the corresponding current privilege level. Another embodiment comprises a verification server's perspective of facilitating the interaction between the first and second devices, where the verification server queries the third-party entity to validate the persona.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2020Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Assignee: Journey.aiInventors: Shmuel Shaffer, Yolanda Schwartz, Alexander John Shockley, Moni Manor, James M. Patent number: 9118763Abstract: In accordance with the teaching described herein, systems and methods are provided for a communications proxy and overlay network for a plurality of customer feedback collection instruments that are configured to gather information from customers. A communications server array may be configured to communicate with a user device and one or more contact centers. An application server may be configured to communicate with the communications server array, a contact centers having associated user interfaces. An intelligent text processing and analysis module may be configured to transform an input from the user device to a modified input for use by the first contact center and second contact center to facilitate real time or delayed communications between users and agents.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2014Date of Patent: August 25, 2015Assignee: Five9, Inc.Inventors: Edwin Kenneth Margulies, Ran Ezerzer, Moni Manor

Patent number: 9088527Abstract: A method and system for allocating bandwidth among communication sessions are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes performing a first allocation to a first communication session and performing a second allocation to a second communication session. The method includes performing a reallocation of bandwidth from the first communication session to the second communication session based on a predetermined criteria.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2011Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Avaya Inc.Inventors: Moni Manor, Parameshwaran Krishnan, Jon Louis Bentley, Gregory Thomas Osterhout, Peter George Tarle, Alex Beck

Patent number: 9009341Abstract: A video conference is set up by a video conference system between three or more video terminals. Each video terminal in the video conference sends its video stream to the video conference system. The video conference system in turn sends out the video streams to video terminals to set up a video conference in the traditional manner. A video controller receives an indication of a change in how at least one of the other video terminals is displaying a video stream from one of the video terminals. Based on the indication of change, a change to the bit rate of the video stream is made. This results in the video conference system be able to send reduced bandwidth based on who is viewing the video conference.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2011Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: Avaya Inc.Inventors: Philip K. Edholm, Moni Manor, Gregory Osterhout

Patent number: 8908843Abstract: A conferencing system and method are described which enable conference participants to beam between back-to-back or concurrent conferences. Specifically, a conference participant is allowed to beam between two or more conferences by providing in-band signaling during a conference. The in-band signaling may include one or more commands to beam the conference participant between the two or more conferences without requiring the conference participant to hang up and redial the conference number.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2012Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Avaya Inc.Inventor: Moni Manor

Patent number: 8593504Abstract: Once an active video conference is set up and a user is viewing the active video conference at a video terminal, the video terminal looks for different events that indicate a change in focus of the user to or from the active video conference. For example, the user brings up another application and starts using the application or the user has minimized a window that is displaying the active video conference. The video terminal sends a change of focus message based on the event to a video conference bridge or another video terminal that is streaming the active video conference to the user. The video conference bridge/video terminal processes the message and changes video portion of the stream of the active video conference based on the message. The result is that there is improved use of bandwidth between the video terminal and the video conference bridge/video terminal.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2011Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Avaya Inc.Inventors: Lin Lin, Moni Manor, Gregory T. Osterhout, Stephen R. Whynot
