Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for voting are described that provide for a virtual or augmented reality based voting. A virtual or augmented reality device may be coupled with a voting server and configured to authorize a voting session for a voter. The virtual or augmented reality device, upon authorization of the voter, may present an associated ballot to the voter, such that the voter may see a virtual ballot, and mark selections on the ballot using gestures. The ballot may presented across the full field of view and can be extensible to be as long as needed to satisfy any full face requirements of a jurisdiction. Virtually generated ballots may dynamically present different languages, size of fonts, colors, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A system for amending implementation instructions for any number or combination of Emergency Auxiliary Services, the Emergency Auxiliary Services being effected according to the implementation instructions regarding at least one predetermined receiver after a triggering communication is placed from a subscribing communication instrument includes: (a) A change ordering means for effecting the amending. The change ordering means is exercised by a service requesting entity using the subscribing communication entity. (b) An instruction amending means coupled with the subscribing communication entity. The instruction amending means responds to the change ordering means to effect the amending.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for providing Internet addresses corresponding to an electronic signal, such as a video or audio program, to a user. The system includes a receiver for receiving at least one electronic signal, where the electronic signal includes one or more Internet addresses embedded therein. A decoder in communication with the receiver is operable to extract the one or more Internet addresses from the electronic signal. The system further includes a processor in communication with the decoder. The processor compiles a historical list of the one or more Internet addresses extracted from the electronic signal, and includes memory for storing the historical list. A web browser connected to the processor is operable to present the historical list of Internet addresses to the user.

Abstract: A method and system for performing actions related to programming in an electronic program guide (EPG) are provided. The method includes receiving a signal indicating the selection of a specific program displayed in the EPG and receiving a signal specifying an action command to be applied to the selected program. The method further includes processing the signals to determine an appropriate content window to be displayed corresponding to the action command.

Abstract: A remote controller for controlling the operation of a electronic appliance has a function or appearance which is changed by adding auxiliary modules to a base unit, allowing a user to adapt the remote controller to his specific needs. Once the module is coupled to the base unit an additional electronic appliance may be controlled. The auxiliary modules may be functional, including interface circuitry and adding more capability to the remote controller or non-functional, having no electrical circuitry. The functional modules may include but are not limited to display screens, speakers, keyboards, etc. The non-functional modules are added for the purpose of changing the appearance of the remote and/or for ease of handling or for attaching other accessories.

The system further includes at least one set-top box, where the set-top box has a program receiver for receiving program signals from the head-end server, and a viewer input receiver for receiving the input signal from the viewer input apparatus. In addition, the set-top box includes a processor that determines whether any channels are currently showing a program of the desired content category at the time the input signal is received.

In one embodiment, the method of the present invention includes the steps of receiving an incoming call from a calling party, the incoming call initiated via at least a service code, and receiving a first input from the calling party, the first input corresponding to the first termination telephone number formerly associated with the first person, processing the first input to retrieve a second termination telephone number presently associated with the first person, and routing the incoming call to the first person via the second termination telephone number.

Abstract: A user station for navigating a visual menu structure includes a processor in electrical communication with a memory and a presentation device. In operation, the processor receives a first electrical signal generated by a user selection device. The signal corresponds to the user's request to store a selected node and a corresponding presentation element desired for future viewing. A second electrical signal generated by the user selection device is received at the processor and compared to the stored location information so as to locate the selected presentation element. The presentation element is thereafter automatically displayed for the user.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of interface between a voice activated dialing system and a user. The present invention solves the problems presented by the prior art by providing a user interface which can add a name and corresponding telephone number to a directory during the process of initiating a telephone call. In addition, the present invention provides the user the opportunity to select which element of a directory listing should be changed, using a single integrated review, erase and change functionality accessible while in a directory mode.
