  • Patent number: 7248246
Abstract: A rack mount server or device with an integrated display that has an adjustable viewing angle. An adjustable viewing angle allows rack mount servers and devices to be stacked and still maintain viewability of their display screens.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2001
Date of Patent: July 24, 2007
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
    Inventor: Monte J. Rhoads
  • Patent number: 6731515
Abstract: A riser card assembly for coupling two or more peripheral cards to a motherboard. The riser card assembly routes all necessary signal lines to each of the peripheral cards disposed thereon and, therefore, a customized motherboard is not required to achieve a small form factor. The riser card assembly includes a mounting portion and at least one routing portion. The mounting portion is secured in a card connector on the motherboard and includes a plurality of secondary card connectors, each secondary card connector for receiving a peripheral card. The mounting portion couples the signal lines at the card connector in which it is inserted to one of its secondary card connectors. The routing portion couples the signal lines from at least one adjacent card connector on the motherboard to the mounting portion, the mounting portion routing those signal lines to another one of its secondary card connectors.

  • Publication number: 20030065497
Abstract: A power state selection system and method are described to receive a representation of a network processing load associated with a plurality of network access devices, to select a power state based on the representation, and to assert a power state selection signal corresponding to the selected power state.

  • Publication number: 20020142765
Abstract: A network appliance with a wireless interface for receiving wireless signals from a wireless device, where the signals contain the network appliance's configuration information, is disclosed. A wireless device with signal generating, coding and transmitting capabilities allows a user to send coded signals containing configuration information to a network appliance. A network appliance with a wireless signal interface receives the signals, decodes them, converts them to machine-accessible information to configure the network appliance, and stores the information in memory. The configuration information can be displayed, either on the network appliance or the wireless device, to confirm that configuration is correct.

  • Patent number: 4727378
Abstract: An ink jet head 10 has an ink chamber 14 which receives ink from an ink inlet passageway 38. Pressure pulses applied to the ink chamber cause the ejection of ink drops from an ink drop forming orifice 23 and toward printing medium. A purging outlet 41 communicates with the ink chamber through a purging passageway 40. During purging, ink flows in a vortical path through the ink chamber 14 from the ink inlet passageway 38 to the purging outlet passageway 40. This sweeps air bubbles and contaminants from the ink chamber walls and removes them from the ink chamber. Ink pressure within the ink chamber 14 may be elevated to increase the flow of ink during purging. Also, a negative pressure may be applied to the purging outlet during purging. Variable frequency pressure pulses may also be applied to the ink chamber to assist the purging process.
