  • Publication number: 20060231358
Abstract: A shock absorber includes a pre-load ring for providing a desired damping characteristic when a piston is being moved outwardly of a hydraulic cylinder. The pre-load ring has a curved surface in contact with a disc valve. A spring bias is applied to hold the pre-load ring against the disc valve. Since the pre-load ring has a curved surface in contact with the disc valve, there is line contact between the pre-load ring and disc valve. As a result, when the disc valve moves away from a port controlled by the disc valve, there is less friction between the disc valve and the pre-load ring.

  • Publication number: 20050087946
Abstract: A vehicle suspension is provided that includes a frame supporting a pair of laterally spaced apart suspension members pivotally supported on the frame and movable in a vertical direction. Each of a pair of wheel ends is supported respectively on one of the suspension members. A stabilizer bar is supported on the frame laterally between the suspension members. The stabilizer bar includes opposing ends each respectively proximate one of the suspension members. Each of a pair of resilient stabilizer bar links respectively interconnects one of the ends and one of the suspension members and transmits torsional force to the stabilizer bar in response to movement of the suspension members in the vertical direction during roll conditions. The links have first and second deflection rates during the roll condition with the first rate being less than the second deflection rate.

  • Patent number: 5221026
Abstract: An apparatus for a liquid and pressurized gas includes a gas inlet hose for conducting the pressurized gas therethrough, a liquid inlet hose, extending through the interior of the gas inlet hose, for conducting the liquid therethrough, a hose separator connected to an end of the gas and liquid inlet hoses, a gas outlet hose connected through the hose separator so as to be in fluid communication with the gas inlet hose for further conducting the pressurized gas therethrough, a liquid outlet hose, separate from the gas outlet hose, connected through the hose separator so as to be in fluid communication with the liquid inlet hose for further conducting the liquid therethrough, and a main outlet hose connected to and in fluid communication with the liquid outlet hose and the gas outlet hose. The apparatus further includes a first valve positioned within the liquid outlet hose to regulate flow therethrough and a second valve positioned within the gas outlet hose to regulate flow therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4429791
Abstract: A mirror and package combination includes a single sheet of material that is folded to produce multiple-ply edge protectors along opposite edges and opposite ends of the mirror and completely encloses the peripheral edge of the mirror frame normally associated with such mirror. The package is formed by producing a plurality of fold lines on flaps that extend from a main body of a sheet to produce multiple-ply thickness supports at opposite ends of the mirror and also multiple-ply thickness supports along opposite sides of the mirror.
