Abstract: An automated payment system provides discounts or benefits for the purchase of variably priced goods and services offered by participating merchants. The system may be accessible via a variety of mobile or other client devices. At the time of payment, a user may select a promotion and enter a purchase price. The system may calculate a discounted price based on one or more rules associated with the promotion and charge the user the discounted price by transferring funds from the user. These funds may then be transferred to the merchant to complete payment of the goods or services at a discount to the user. The system may collect one or more fees as to revenue. For example, a subscription fee may be charged or a portion of the user's funds may be collected before the funds are transferred to the merchant.
