Abstract: An apparatus and method for processing a 3-Dimensional (3D) image are disclosed. A display is configured to display an image. An image capture device captures an image of the surrounding environment of the 3D image processing apparatus. A controller detects glasses in a video frame captured by the image capture device, and controls switching to a 3D video mode in which the display displays a 3D image according to the detected results.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of providing stereoscopic image contents, and the method includes receiving partially encrypted stereoscopic image data from the content provider; performing a user authentication for providing stereoscopic image; decrypting the encrypted part of the stereoscopic image data based on the result of the performed user authentication; and displaying stereoscopic image by using the stereoscopic image data including the decrypted part.
