The method involves determining a size of an image output from a camera module, resizing the size of the image output from the camera module to a size suitable for a display unit when the size of the image output from the camera module differs from the size of the image to be output through the display unit, and outputting the resized image. The method involves determining a size of an image output from a camera module, and resizing a 720×480 image to a 320×240 image to be output through a display unit when the camera module has output the 720×480 image, and outputting the 320×240 image.

Abstract: A method for displaying image data in a portable terminal is provided, in which the type of a moving picture is displayed by using previously stored item display data. Abstract: A method for emitting a fragrance in a mobile device and a mobile device for supporting a fragrance emitting function are provided. The mobile device includes a user database, a fragrance emitting module, and a control unit. The user database includes additive information related to one or more user functions of the mobile device. The fragrance emitting module emits at least one of a plurality of fragrances selected depending on a type of additive information. The control unit, when an event occurs that corresponds to at least one of the one or more user functions, determines whether the event is a specific event correlated with the additive information. The control unit also controls the fragrance emitting module to emit the at least one of the plurality of fragrances in response to the occurrence of the specific event.

Abstract: An icon position movement controlling method and a portable terminal adapted to the method are disclosed. When icons are displayed on the display unit of the portable terminal, if a position movement locking function is set, the position of the icon can be locked so that they are not moved by a touch event that has occurred on the display unit or a screen of the display unit. A position movement releasing function can release the locked icons. Therefore, the icons can be prevented from moving due to unintentional touch events.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing and displaying information generated with a bar code and stored within a mobile communication terminal for easy recognition is provided. The method of providing intrinsic information in a mobile communication terminal includes verifying whether intrinsic information about the mobile communication terminal is stored; and displaying the intrinsic information on a screen when the intrinsic information is stored. Therefore, when a user wants to verify information for a mobile communication terminal, information about the terminal is displayed on a screen with a bar code, so that it is easy to verify and recognize the information about the terminal. Further, even if the mobile communication terminal is turned off, information about the terminal stored in the RFID tag is read by an RFID reader, so that it is easy to verify and recognize the information about the terminal.

Abstract: A method for, and a mobile terminal configured for, outputting an image together with a background sound are provided. The method for outputting an image in a mobile terminal comprises the steps of setting at least one image and a corresponding background sound, and detecting when a user selects an image for which the background sound was set and outputting the selected image and the corresponding background sound simultaneously. Since the background sound is played simultaneously with the display of the wallpaper, it can satisfy the user's demand for distinctiveness and expression of individuality.

A camera module acquires a user's image including the user's face, and a face recognition unit recognizes the user's face from the user's image. Abstract: Disclosed is a method for locking a camera in a portable terminal by means of a cipher apparatus connected to the portable terminal. The portable terminal includes the camera for photographing an image, a memory for storing secret codes, an image processor for processing the photographed image, and a display unit for displaying the processed image. The method comprises the steps of the cipher apparatus receiving information of the portable terminal, establishing a secret code, and transmitting enciphered data; the portable terminal receiving the enciphered data and stopping an operation of the camera; and the cipher apparatus receiving information reporting a locked state of the camera, and storing and displaying the secret code and a telephone number of the portable terminal.

As a result, terminal users can cope with an emergency in advance.
