  • Patent number: 6456332
Abstract: A device which generates horizontal and vertical sync signals of a composite signal to create a soft picture on a display monitor by preventing a free running effect of a composite signal which is caused by a mode conversion between recorded and unrecorded areas of the picture when a composite signal generated from an alternative source such as a VCR instead of an external input signal is applied to the display monitor. The device includes a microcomputer for generating a sync select signal based on a display mode, and a composite signal analyzing and horizontal/vertical oscillating circuit for generating horizontal and vertical oscillating signals based on a luminance signal separated from a composite signal input. A horizontal sync signal generator processes the horizontal oscillating signal, to generate a composite horizontal sync signal. A vertical sync signal generator processes the vertical oscillating signal, to generate a composite vertical sync signal.

  • Patent number: 6097378
Abstract: In one arrangement of a video display apparatus according to the present invention, an audio power supply, which separated from a constant voltage generator, is directly connected to a main power supply and supplies power to an audio circuit. A microcontroller generates an audio power control signal in response to key input data entered from a key input unit. An audio power controller is provided to shut off the audio power supplied to the audio circuit in response to the audio power control signal from the microcontroller. In another arrangement, the audio power supply is connected to an auxiliary power supply for supplying power to the microcontroller. Thus, the supplying of the audio power to the audio circuit can be controlled independent of the video circuitry and in accordance with user's need.

  • Patent number: 5483464
Abstract: An apparatus for use in the peripheral equipment of a computer reduces the needless consumption of power. Once it has been determined that the computer has not been used for a predetermined period of time, an operation control signal indicative of a specific control mode is supplied for controlling the supply of power to the computer's peripheral equipment and the computer's operating state. The operation of a power supply means for generating operating power to a computer's peripheral equipment is controlled in response to a detected control mode. Accordingly, energy is conserved by controlling the supply of power and the operating state of a computer's peripheral equipment according to the peripheral equipment's operational state.
